The same "As a Costco member you have won a prize, press 1 to continue" that others have been getting on other 778 numbers. Hung up without pressing 1...

Just got a call from this number. They said "Hello. Because you are a valued Costco customer, you have won a prize. Press 1 to collect your prize." It is the same voice that says I am a valued Telus customer, but from a different number. I am neither of those things.

Also tried a callback, but the number doesn't exist.

I just receive a call from them as well.  I did press 1 and listened to the entire speel.  It started with you are a valid Costco member.....When Cancun Calling rep came on the phone I asked again how they got my number and they said it was because I had attended an RCI resort in the past (which I have)  Then they go into your free stay in Cancun and then again in orlando right by Disney World.  They use big names like COSTCO, RCI and Disney worl to make themselves seem legit.  I was making them repeat everything so that I could search it online while they were talking.  They come across quite professional at one point they actual put me on with a "supervisor".  Eventually I got bored and hung up.

"Costco"  called  saying i had won a one time vacation opportunity, they promptly transferred me to "Cancuncalling"  telling me about the fabulous double vacation package for  6 days 5 nights in Cancun at the OceanSpa hotel , and an additional one for 5 days 4 nights in Florida  all for $698 if I reserved it today with a credit card.  they assured me of their legitimacy they even asked me to call my visa company from my landline while remaining on the phone with them.  With all the Scams that go on these days there is no way I would go for something like this.  After I told them all this I really felt they were legit, but I was still not willing to take the risk.  I feel it is really sad that people who ARE LEGIT and are really working hard to promote these great hotels and put food on their tables for their families get the crappy end of the stick because we are afraid of being had by [***] people that want to screw us over. I fell in love with Mexico and Cancun when I was there last year, and I will check out the OceanSpa hotel, but I am sorry the guy  I spoke to will not get the commission or what ever he would have recieved from my business... that is ......  if he was truely legit ....... Who knows right ????

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone. The automated voice said it was "only for Rogers customers," and so I pressed "one". I was on guard already, but since I know that Rogers does have contests, I thought maybe this was legit. After a moment or two with muzak on the line, a young man answered and instantly started going into what was necessary to qualify. I hung up right away.

Then I thought, maybe it was legit, after all, as far as I knew, Rogers didn't allow telemarketers and such to have their callers' information, and although the guy didn't say "hello," perhaps it was legitimate and I missed out on an actual vacation. I'm happy to have Googled this and found out that it wasn't, and that I did the right thing by hanging up!
