    They use a large range of numbers in their outbound calls.  Likely each and every desk in the call centre has it's own direct number.

    My suspicions were raised when I got a call before 9am and another before 9pm on Victoria Day which is a Canadian National Holiday. Also, they are not allowed to call before 9am or after 9pm re business hours of Monday to Friday. When I called the number I was given, which was 1-877-604-7828, I mentioned this and was transferred to the supervisor where I indicated I was complaining to their head office and suspected it was a scam. Mike Pierce provided me his id number and  was very pleasant and indicated they had a tight deadline hence able to work stat holiday and weekends. I indicated once I got confirmation they were legit, then I would call back. I have reported all info and details of all messages and calls to Stats Can and they have supplied me with a Case number. We will find out if it is legit. There is a Stats Can website listing the 877-604-7828 number but until the Ottawa Stats Can office clears it with me, I will not respond.
