i have been getting  phone calls from these people at work everyday at work. they called today asking to speak to my supervisor because of this legal matter. I have no clue as to what they are talking about. they also mentioned taking me to court, but would not tell me when, where, and how this matter toook place.

Have been called by this number eight different times today.  Same story as above.  They say they are with Department Low Investigations (at least this is the name I "think" they gave - they speak very broken English) and that they have a bunch of attorney's on the phone and they are going to take me to court because they deposited a $300 loan to my bank account.  I assured them that this never happened and that I have the bank statements to prove this.  They further threaten that they will take me to court - to which I responded, "great, let's do that".

I can only assume that this is not a legitimate company and this is some kind of fraud to try and use scare tactics to get you to pay-up on some bogus loan charge that you never received or entered in to.  I would encourage you to contact your states Attorney General office and file a complaint.  This is exactly what I will be doing.  In the meantime, I look quite forward to my fantasy - make believe "day in court" with these non-English speaking yahoos.  We'll see how their inept conversation skills and scare tactics match up to my good 'ole fashioned English bank statements.

214-785-4440 (called @ 1:41 p.m., 1:39 p.m., - Texas)

Some heavy accent Indian guy left a threatning message saying he was calling from Center of Law and Investigation and that I better call him back right away or risk a law suit.....risk losing my job....etc/ His accent was so heavy it was hard to understand everything he was trying to threaten me with.......idiot!

This number is also associated with 508-654-7899    This number called me 10 times in a row but never left a message

Threatening me with fraud - take me into custody, calling ten times a day on home phone and on work phone.  Who are these people and what can you do?

These people call literally non stop, back to back so the number is getting changed. Initially, a man with a heavy east Indian accent called and threatened my friends and family... That's ok though, I don't owe anything and Karma is a big [***]...

i had the samething and they hung up on me and said they would see me in court i called back and he said dont call this number again and so i said you dont call my number again then im a granville county deputy and i will hunt you down and take legal matters never herd from them again.

They called me asking for a person who does not work in my office I told them he does not work her. The guy threatens to take me to court if I don't give him information on this person. I told him not to call and he continued.

Ok, so i know that these posts are older, but i just got this call on my work voicemail today.  i have absolutely no idea how they got my work number as it is not listed anywhere except internally and it is not given out either.  

When i called the number(s) back on caller id (617-531-2612) to tell them that i had the voicemail recorded and i reported them for running an extortian ring, then he asked my name, and i said "that isn't important" and he YELLED "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!!!!!" so i hung up.  Then i called the number back that was left on my message to call 781-443-7087 and the SAME guy answered and said all calm "i just want to know your name" i proceeded to tell him that even if he was with a collection agency that harrassment at the work place and threatening of any kind is illegal and that i know he is representing a fraudulent company.  he then said "what was the officer's name who threatened you, i will fire him immediately", i said, "Stephen Johnson".  then at the end he kept asking me "DID HE ABUSE YOU?" DID HE ABUSE YOU?  DID HE ABUSE YOU?  I responded "I do not know him but he was threatening me".  I finally just told him I wasn't playing his games, I had everything recorded and I was reporting him, and to remove my name from the data base.  I never did confirm the number that they had called.  I have absolutely no idea how they got my number as it is an INTERNAL WORK NUMBER.  It is not listed anywhere, and it is not given out to people to call.

The police officer said that her sargeant got the same call today except they said that he had a warrant for money laundering and larceny.  They know how to make the calls fit to the caller.  I do have debt, so them pretending that I was going to be arrested for an outstanding bill made sense.  What didn't make sense was that the guy on the message could barely speak English, he did not leave a badge number AND the number they called from (617-531-2612) did not match the number he gave as a callback number (781-443-7087).

WATCH OUT FOR THESE PEOPLE.  If this hadn't happened on my company phone where I know that no one has the number AND if I had not paid attention to the little details I could have easily been a victim.  

This was in Jacksonville AR today.  It is the first report they have had using the fear of warrant to get money, but they expect to see a lot more.  A police officer will not call your work to tell you they are going to arrest you.  They will knock on your door---and they only do that AFTER they have mailed you the warrant.

they called me saying they were sending Federal agents to arrest me and my friends unless I talked to them. I hung up and they keep calling back. I know this is a fraud / scam because I have not done anything to warrent such an action.
A lot of noise in backround and broken english. Said his name was  Steven Johnston

Yeah they are such scammers! They said they were from the department of law and investigations. He had a thick accent. I could barely understand him. He said his name was "Nash Brown" which I thought was odd. He calls me like 5 times a day and leaves a message on my cell. He's annoying!

Yes I just received a call from this company claimed that they were from the State Legal Department. The individual named was Shawn. He hung up on me several times. He would not give me any information. He stated that I owe money to a cash advance and that they have proof. Please be aware.

These people call from different numbers all harrassing me about legal issues that do not exist.  They have personal information.

I've been having the same problems... This is the first time they called me from this number, it's ususally a 951-489-0237 number... These ppl call my job and my cell phone constantly harrassing me, they even went so far as to leave vulgar messages on my voicemail!! I've filed a harrassment report and I intend to call Riverside County Police Dept. (thats where most of the calls are coming from) and see if they can assist me.

Ok new number to Report 781-443-7087 in addition to 951-489-0237. Again wanting my lawyers information and laughing when I told them I felt this was a fraudulent call and that they were calling from a call center.

Man with a very heavy foreign accent phone from this # 7814437087, says he is from the dept of Law and that my social security number was tracked on the internet and that I should contact him immediately to straighten this out that I was involved in a crime.

I have had a man and a woman with an india accent...very foreign that I could not understand half of what they are saying.  These two numbers 781-443-7087 & 951-489-0220 show up on my caller ID on work phone and cell phone and identify themselves from the Dept of Law and Investigation.  I just google the numbers and I usually don't answer the calls because I know they are probably scammers since I have had a new cell phone number for only a couple of months and notice they started calling a day or two after I went online to get a personal loan....I'm guessing they got my information..phone numbers off the internet.  I also didn't have any of these type of calls from these people especially on either phones before I went online to apply for a personal loan.  I know I will never do that again and I will probably just get me a new cell number.

Got one today. Man, how can anyone fall for this? They said i owed them money from a cash loan and then wanted my debit card number to pay it back. Guy sounded like he was at a crowded supermarket and the english was so bad. It was almost comical. Hopefully they don't continue to call though, because that sounds really annoying.

they appear to be a collection agency for usa credit they to tried to say they deposited 300 into my account and i never paid the loan@!!! duh most payday loan companies automatic debit the funds from your account!!!! they called me trying to state they were going to take me to court.. i have been contacting the company and the bbb this is fraudulent

they have called me several times but i never answer nor do i return the calls but today i returned just to see and i can tell that it is the same man every time for one he is rude and i asked to speak to the supervisor then he hung up i called back and he said look ma'am and i was like ummmm how do he know it was me again thats clue one that they are using cells phones or some sort of id and his main question was are you going to pay the money i said no would you pay money that you never took then he say we are going to take you to court you can lose your driver licenses and everything the way i look at it is they not getting my money if they really wanna go to court we can go it only take one click of the mouse to print off my bank statements plus the date range of the funds that they say was put into my account is soo off b/c i was not even with that bank at that time dang idiots so how they look now they really need to get a life and step their game up
