This guy Investigator Robert Dickson, threatening me that I was going to lose everything if I did not pay back a cash advance loan that i supposedly took out 3 years ago. He gave me an address that I have not lived at in 6 years, told me I would be facing jail time, lose my job. Said I owed one amount but he would file my case as a hardship if I paid $2000 that day. Told me everything was already started through my county prosecutors office. I hung up and called the prosecutors office, they assured me it is a scam!!

The same guy Robert Dickson called threatening me that I would be arrested he said it was about a payday loan he knew my ssn and names of my relatives . I called the payday loan company and i was reassured that they do not offer loans in the state I live in.

Not sure what good these reports do, as these people just keep calling and keep changing their phone numbers.  Can't somebody STOP all of these nonsense.  These people called me about a Payday loan that was paid off 5 years ago.  They call my work, they call my family and my friends and they are nothing but scammers who are harrassing people and getting away with it!

I am so glad I read these comments, same guy, same threats! Told me I have to pay almost 30,000 in court costs and serve jail time, if I didn't pay the 2500, or he could file my case as a hardship
And I would only have to pay 1200, I told him I wouldn't have this amount in 24hrs, he said he could probably get it under 800. If I didn't I would then lose my job, because I would have a felony charge. He gave me 24 hours to come up with the money before he filed and they arrested me. Almost had me scared enough to make arrangements to pay something I didn't owe.

doing same thing here, next time I would let them know, she is in sick leave to write her a letter by mail, ha,ha,.. I'm so tired of this scammers..

I just got the same message from this Zenith Group. They even emailed my on Zenith letter head about this supposedly debt I owe. I am calling the Zenith Group to inquire if this have a CJ working for them and also file a complaint because of the harrassing calls. The number they are calling from isn't even the Zenith company number either. And when this CJ call he is call from a 207-591-4925. Be very aware of these scam. I refuse to pay anything over the phone. I will mail in a payment but I have to have it mailed to my address. I called my local prosecutor office and was told there is nothing pending for me. Stated that sounds like a collection agency trying to scare you into paying a balance owed. Told her never got a loan from US Cash Advance and I call that company. Told me that can not do criminal case for this in our state only civil so will not have any jail time but sounds like a scam. People please do not give your account information over the phone to these scammers. I did 2 years ago and still right today am getting these calls.

One, they cannot press criminal charges over a civil matter. We should all know this, but threatening to do this over a debt could land at least $1000 in your pocket.

Learn your state recording laws, whether or not you have to let the other party know you're recording. 2 party states require both callers to know, be on the safeside and let them know you're recording or have them tell you, just ask "Are you recording this?" If they say yes, you have consent to record as well.  

Two, if we still had debtor's prisons, a lot of people would be in jail for civil debt issues, this isn't 15th century England.

Look at the FTC Act, specifically the FDCPA 15 U.S.C. 1692, section 1692e(a)(8) and 1692(f). You'll find it helpful.

Got a call from this # on AUG 7 and again AUG 12.  Said name was Miles Howard calling about a felony complaint he received and I was to call him back immediately.

Got the same message on a voice mail. Felony warrant charges issued. I should call this number 480-526-5310 xt 128 Miles Howard, before they press charges to take advantage of their offer to resolve. Got same call over two weeks ago.  I've given voice message to Sheriffs Dept and County PD along with Attorney General office, they would like very much to talk to these people. Also reported to FTC, Fraud and FBI. Total scam artists trying to scare you into paying something you do not owe. Don't buy into their threats.

keep getting calls from this number but they never leave me a voicemail.  I always know that if they are not willing to leave a recorded message they have something to hide.  Thanks to all of you for posting and letting us know this is a scam.

Any New York resident getting a call regarding a payday loan, DO NOT PAY THEM>>> Payday loans are ILLEGAL in New York State (and 13 others) and therefore cannot be legally collected on.... Report them to the NYS Attorney general by calling 716-853-8404.  

I have the same company calling but different names and multiple numbers
scared to the point I did pay some money but cut off my card now getting numerous calls on my cell and work number
attorney told me to just ignore the calls however it is very stressful and nerve wretching

Me too these people need to be stopped and put in jail....someone needs to call them and threaten them like they do us see how they like it

Got a call from this number left a message said her name was miss tucker talked really fast couldn't really understand.  She said that there had been a complaint filed against me in the (area county) not completely sure about what she said there.  I get these calls all the time I wish they would stop throw these &&$@s in jail!!

My sister, who has never had a payday loan with the company they named, contacted me (a licensed MA attorney) after a woman contacted her.  She was told she was "ghetto" and an "a$$hole" and that she was being brought up on fraud charges and would be arrested.  Interestingly enough, she got a docket number that isn't even CLOSE to a valid docket number in MA.  She gave this woman my number, and she called and the first thing she asked for was my bar ID.  Happily, I gave it to her spelling out my first and last name, and telling her to visit the mass.gov site to check it out.
She didn't know my sister's proper last name (it had about 3 added letters in random places) and kept calling me by the wrong name, after I had spelled it out for her. She emailed me her "validation", which wasn't even on letterhead for Zenith Financial. I asked for an address to send legal process for FDCPA and c.93A violations, but of course....return to sender, address undeliverable.  I then received a voicemail from "Chief Baker" asking if I had received the documents outlined in my letter.  How can you get information from a letter that was never delivered?? Total scam artists, and as soon as I get their actual address and registered agent info, I will be happy to pass it along for all to sue!

I hope you do!  Someone called Jane Tucker called my father today & scared him half to death & told him she was going to be putting out a warrant for my arrest and I needed to call her immediately.  He relayed the message & I called.  She had me scared half to death, told me that they would come and arrest me at my place of business or even on front of my children.  Wanted me to pay back 1700 on a supposed 300 payday loan.  I told her I'd never received validation of the debt, yet she was insistent that I'd received 3 collection letters.  I have received nothing!!! I don't believe that I took out any such loan! I have filed a report with the FTC.  I'm not going to be scared into giving crooks my hard earned money!
