Same, no voicemail left

786-233-6745 called and I called them back.  They can see my name on the caller ID.  I can hear a very bad echo of my own voice because they are calling from a voice-over ip system. This call center claimed they are attempting to verify insurance information something they claim my health insurance requested to a health problem.

Solution: Whatever health problem they claim you have, tell the person that you don't have it and don't know why they are calling you. ie: chronic pain, diabetic testing supplies, etc.  Tell them that you are perfectly healthy with no problems.
If they persist in getting information, tell them that your health insurance is part of your state.  They want to know what the insurance is called, say Medicaid or Medicare with no HMO.  These companies don't want to mess with a state or federal benefits plan.

WARNING: These scam third party companies are really attempting to get your information, have you pay them a fee via e-check (say you only use Paypal), and billing your insurance for fictitious charges.  If you authorize it, you have committed insurance fraud and they get away with it.

I've used a similar script to deal with fictitious companies who claim that they represent a computer company and want remote access to your system.  I go as far as "how do I turn the computer on?", "where is the button?", and "what does the computer look like?"
