three calls to my cell from this number, no messages were left, when trying to return the call it says it has been disconnected.

this number belongs to Florida Power and Light and is an automated call to let you know that someone will be out to read your meter on the next business day. The automated system will call back numerous times if no live answer is detected... but will not leave a message.

You are correct about the number being from FPL but the reason for calling might not be correct.  FPL's phone system does not include long distance, therefor a code is required to dial out.  When this is done it creates a temporary line.  You can't call it back and unless a message was left you don't really know the reason for the call or who called.  Usually such number start with 785 being the "area code".  I know this because i am currently working for FPL.

I got this call this morning. Didn't leave a message. But the ID said FPL. I think they are coming in for inspection of the meter or something.

Received a call yesterday. Live person on the phone thanking me for making a payment and hung up. Felt funny so I returned the call and it said it was disconnected or no longer in service. FPL says they do not know what this number is

this number has been calling once a week and will call every 30 minutes to and hour regardless if i answer or not.how do i get it to stop?

Called my cell 2 times on 01/29/2009. No messages left.  No answer when tried to call back.

The meter reading thing makes sense - I signed up my phone with them to call me the night before my meter reading so I remember to unlock the fence.  Sure enough, I recieved a bunch of calls today from that number - no message - and my meter reading is tomorrow.  They called last month, same thing the day before the reading - no message, but it makes complete sense that that is what it is.  Reading your above posts helped me put two and two together finally.  Thanks!

I just got a call from this number 786-245-0093, I live in Tx and have never lived anywhere near Florida. This call woke me up at 3:57am and now I find out that it is an automated system from a Florida power company, What the heck is this all about?

I received 12 calls in a row from this number on Friday, July 17, 2009 after 7:00 p.m.  What is their deal, when I called the number back, it just rang with no one answering. I live in Cape Canaveral, FL and this number is out of Miami.

It's Florida Power & Light Company. Probably calling to see if your dog will be chained up so they can read your meter!!
