Received a call from Monica Wilcox she said she was calling from the Litigation Department. She asked if I had ever had a payday loan when I told her no, she asked me to verify the last four of my SSN and when I told her I would not do that because I had no idea who she was she said that she was calling to tell me that there was a case against me and when I wanted to verify that fact I could call their office back and she hung up. Another Scam!

I also received phone call from Ms. Myers saying there was a felony misdemeanor case against me for a online payday loan that was taken out back in January 5, 2013.  She knew my address and email and said they have sent me letters but I have never received anything.  She said the company that this payday loan was from was New Grant Funding and that they handle over 300 agencies.  When I asked for the exact company that the payday loan was from she sais she did not know but only that it was New Grant Funding.  When i asked for the documentation to be send to me again, she said unfortunately she was only the middle man and did not have the paperwork.  She tried to scare me saying I must have done this payday loan with the intent to never pay it and when the payday loan agency tried to withdraw it from my account, the account had been closed.  I have had the same account since 2007 and it has never been closed.  This is a major scam and they try to threaten you by saying they will be persuing the case and have an arrest warrant issued and it can be handle in court if I do not pay them $520.  Give me the legal document that shows I owe this because I do not do online payday loans.  Plus she do never once told me what company she worked for.

Got the same sort of call, it's a scam, ignore, or rather call them back and put them thru the ringer: ask a bunch of questions, talk half legible, often using statements that don't have anything to do with anything, ask them repeatedly who they are, i'll send a check. . . "what did you say your company's name is???" where are you located again??? what is that street address? and the office number?? and now all i need is exactly where your desk is located? would you like pizza with that delivery or would you rather hoagies?

Received a call from an obvious non-recording, don't remember the guy's name.

Claimed they were calling about a security advisory related to my checking account and social security number, and that I should press 1 to speak to an "advisor"

There was a click (probably hung up on) when I asked what company they were calling with.

Reeks of being a scammer, don't give them ANY of your information.

Got a call from 786-257-1555. James last name??? left a message from the litigation department. blah blah blah. Department of what? Either way, the number found it's way to the black list of my call blocker.

Received the same call, from James Jamison.  Sounds like a recorded message like the other messages that I have been receiving from Karen Rogers/Rodgers, etc. SCAM.

Correction - name is James Johnson

Karen Rogers or Rodgers is a moniker for a notorious debt scammer.   Look up the name on the 800notes Index page.  You'll see page after page with her name and her scams. She belongs to a group of white collar criminals who go around the country cold-calling people and threatening them in an attempt to get money.  Block the number.

I have been getting the same calls from this number its either a Karen Rogers or some Coco lady and today it was James Johnson saying there is a legal case been downloaded on my social security number today to call him so i can solve this legal matter with him. This has been going on for about 3 months now i am so sick of them i keep blocking there number but they same to alway have some other numbers to continue harrassing me . What can i do ? The number they  alled from today is 786-257-1555 .

Problem is, no one seems to know where, exactly,  they are located.  Maybe going to your local TV news station might help.

I received the same call, my pay back was 410.00. when asked what company she told me new grant funding, I told her I never heard of them and that I do not take out payday loans.  She also had my name and address. I told her my attorney would be contacting her in the morning and she stated there is not need for that because the warrant would be issued at 7 pm and she would not have information at her desk, I then told her my ex-husband worked for the sheriff dept and I would also have him check into this, she was pissed and told me I hope you have a great day.

Im also tired of the calls, so now I answer the phone morgue, when they ask for me I asked if I need to pull files, when they keep on, I tell them unless they can talk to the dead its not happening.....I know thats not right to do but it stops the calls

•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I just got a voice mail from James Jamison as well. Saying a case with name and SSN is being downloaded in my county today! Seriously I got the same call 4 months ago from some other woman at the same number. First of all my voice mail does NOT say my name it only says my number. So who's name is it being downloaded in, not mine. Clearly these people are scammers and only want to steal people's hard earned money.

I also received a phone call the name I got was James Johnson and that I was suppose to receive something but they did not mentioned my name. Please do what I do which is do not answer nor give these people the time of day. If it is urgent they will have to put it in writing.

I also received these same cslls... The name Cocoa for a collections representative was too funny... Someone  should of told her that her stripper name wasn't good for a financial collections agency....  Today's collection number is 786-257-1555 last week it was 404-909-6940... I've never taken out a payday loan or direct deposit cash advance...
