The person who called me said they were calling from Degree School and they wanted to enroll me to further my education..??

Again, I believe Kaplan Univ has shared my cell # w/o my authorization. I have received two calls with no message from this # w/in the past 2 days.

I have received several calls from this number..786-472-4679, all related to some sort of schooling  - 3 calls from 3 different schools.

For sure, Kaplan Univ. shared my cell phone number with other degree oriented outfits. I did not give permission for this, but Kaplan only cares about money so they sold it to someone else. This is only one of many outfits that have called since my wife signed up for an online course with them early in 2011. It seems that Kaplan doesn't care about anyone's privacy, they seem to care mostly about money.

What I do with all of these unwanted calls is don't answer the phone unless you know who it is. If it is important they will leave a message. Then, look up the number on the internet and if it is a telemarketer enter it into your phone book and mark it as SPAM1 (or whatever ID works for you to know it is an unwanted call). Next time they call your phone will ID them as SPAMx. That will ease your mind about who it was that called. This was not my idea. I read about doing this on some other web site, but I like the idea and use it. It  works.

I also have attempted to go to Kaplan and am having the same problem. Im tempted to answer and go off on them and tell them I am already tending a community/technical college and no longer need their service

Thanks for the advice. I will certainly mark them as spam in my phone.  :) Also, if you want to go the extra mile, some cell phone services will block numbers

Just received a call from this number 11am on Sat. I saved it as a contact named "Fake U", just like something I would like to say to them. Now I know not to answer when that contact comes up.

Wakes me up calling me very early in morning.

This is an online degree telemarketer.

I want them to be shut down!

yes it is from kaplan university  cant believe those [***] for all the crap iam getting on my email-cell and home phone--telling everyone i know to stay away from them!!!

They called me today and when I answered there was nothing on the other end. After saying hello several times, I hung up. When I called them back later I got their muzak. I hvae no idea who they are or what they want but I want them to stop. It's interesting that when I read the other complaints we all have the same thing in common...we all have been graduates or students of Kaplan Univ.

I have told the caller multiple times to remove me from their call list because it costs me minutes when they call.  They say they will remove but always call back.  They call from 786 472-4679

Calls 3x a day no person on the other end.  I also was looking into on education.

I'm having this same problem. It's funny you all mention kaplan, because I recently went to check them out, and was looking to further my education with them. A few days later, the calls started coming in from this number. I never answer, but I try to call back to see who it is, and when I do, there is no ring. They just pick up. So I figured it was some kind of bs.

This crap isn't isolated to this number. I get calls all the time from online schools. As I keep telling them that I have finished my education and they don't know what they are talking about, they keep trying to sell me on their crap programs.

This was a message that wanted me to enter a PIN that was included in the text so that I would be entered in a contest.  This call was received on a cell phone.  It shouldn't have been.  I'll register my cell phone number with the federal no call list.  I should have done that already so that I could report this call.

My 13 year old daughter just got called from these guys. They claimed to be from a board of education or something of that nature.

I have no idea how they got her name. She is not associated with this phone # anywhere we can think of. We only give this # out to family and friends.

We have been getting calls from these people the last few days. It will ring and ring and ring until some one picks up, first day I let ring for 5 minutes, second day they rang for over 10. When I finally answered there was no one there. Tried calling out to the number (tried calling them back), the first time, I didn't realize it was the same number for 2 different IDs until the same guy answered, and I double checked my call log, but the next day when I called back, there was no ringing. The same phone number shows up with different IDs.

They show up on my caller ID as IVR and Itel Connections

This not Kaplan University, but, a third party, "Degree Search". When I called them back I spoke to a VERY uneducated individual who called me an IDIOT. When I tried to call back they continued to hang up on me, therefore I blocked my number from caller id and called back and spoke to another person who said he will report the issue and apologized. I have called Kaplan and filed a complaint, they will be emailing me back.... Will keep you posted
