keep getting calls & they don't leave a message as to why they are calling...

This is a call from a debt collector.

This is a Debt Collection Agency, yes...
HOWEVER... They buy Old Debt! Debt that has expired from limitations.

When companies devolve old debt from 7 or more years, companies like this, buy up the expired debt and hope that they retrieve whatever they can from it.

They rarely follow the Collection Debit Act laws and often "try" to be a nightmare.
They enjoy making it sound as though you are going to jail, that they are going to tun you into the IRS... Whatever sounds scary.  

Old debt, is old debt. If it has past the 7 years limitation of Stature, it is considered expired from your credit rating and "Old Debt".

Should you pay it, 7 years later... ?  That is your choice to make for yourself.

Now a days many phones (Smart phones) offer an option to select a limited amount of numbers (not sure how many, 5 maybe) to be sent automatically to your voice mail. You can also have a different voice mail for those calls.

They have been calling here for months - what does one do to put a stop to it?? I am on the National Do Not Call List....enough is enough !!!!

@Missy, while you are 100% correct on statute of limitation being 7 yrs for old debt, you have to be very cautious as to how and why you pay that type of debt.  If it's your moral obligation, and you can't live with yourself if you don't pay it, then go for it.  But if you a re little more fiscally savvy, you need to know that if you enter any repayment plan for a debt older than 7 yrs, then it will be reactivated in your credit profile for another 7 yrs.

Anyone with more expertise, please correct me if I am wrong, but I have talk to numerous financial advisers that simple say let it go!  it will actually hurt you more to pay that to block the calls.

This number has been calling me for over 6 months now, and they sometimes call at least 4-5 times a day....I don't owe any past debt to anyone and want this number to stop calling me..How do I stop it?

this number calls me several times a day, hangs up on my voice mail and does not leave a message........it has been going on for months.........i do not owe on any current bills..........please make them stop, thanx........

I get 5 - 6 calls a day and I do have any debts that are deliquent/past due/in collections, etc.  They call my cell and home phone.  Would really appreciate no more calls.  They call early, mid-day, dinner time, late.  They don't seem to get the hint that I am not going to answer.  They leave no message and do not identify themselves.

constantly receiving calls from this number. i do not answer calls that i do not know.. i do not owe anyone anything and its like, if its so important, then why they never leave a message? sounds like a scam artist to me. IGNORE

I am constantly getting phone calls from this number and there is never a message.  I don't understand.  It is annoying !!!!!   I will continue to ignore any calls that come from this number!!

Company calling is "MCC" A Commonwealth company, it is a collection agency. They leave this toll free number to reach them, 800-848-2170 X213

Got calls on my cell phone. When I answered, I got put on hold for a bit, then the phone started ringing and someone answered as if I had called them. Thank you for making my day a little more surreal.

I just changed my number and it is worse than it was before.
I think the US government has to put a stop to  these people.

I keep receiving calls from your agency, and as far as I know I don't have any kind of debt under my name to be getting your calls. This will be my first attemt to notify you that I do not want anymore of your calls.

I just called and left a message at the 800 number listed above. I requested that they remove me from there calling list. let's see if the have the ability to listen to messages left and follow instructions.

... This is my new number just purchased another day ... and these ppl called me ... I was like WTF

Received a call today 9/8/12 at work was unable to answer so looked up the # when I got home.Real simple solution is if you don`t know anyone with that area code don`t answer.I put a lock on the number so the next they call I`ll know not answer

Keep calling daily leaving no messages (over 15 calls total up to date). My number is on the DNC list.
