- Mrs C| 9 repliesGot a call from a Mickey Harlow. The number came through on my cell as 'UNKNOWN' but this is her callback number. Very rude collector. Said she was from "LEGAL OUTSOURCING". She stated "You have been notified". Lol. Notified of what? That you're a scam artist? Real, legal collectors don't leave messages like this because they know it's ILLEGAL!!

- BigA replies to Mrs C| 8 repliesAny other information you could post about this bunch of criminals would be appreciated:
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, etc. all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I made the mistake of taking out an online payday loan a few years ago and they periodically harrass me to collect on a debt that was paid a very long time ago. I've reported many to the Federal Trade Commission...for all the good it does. Eventually, they give up and return with different phone numbers a few months later. Changing my phone number may be my only option.
- Slim replies to Mrs C| 1 reply>> Changing my phone number may be my only option. <<
Maybe not.
Y'see, your "new" number would probably be somebody else's "old" number ... and who knows how many spam calls they were getting?
Suggest you get a call blocker, and block the irritating numbers. They will not be able to use the same number twice, if you use the blocker correctly. - BigA replies to Mrs C| 3 repliesThe reason nothing is done is because these people are operating under the radar and they change phone numbers like people change underwear. At some point they will make a mistake and get caught.
- Mrs C replies to BigAThat's exactly right. I have blocked about 30 numbers in my phone. They change numbers. They change area codes. They've even stooped so low as to use my own area code and sometimes the name of a local business. They are really bottom feeders.
- Mrs C replies to BigA| 1 replyAlso, keep in mind that they probably won't get caught. Many of them are operating out of the country. They don't abide by our laws because they are not required to.
- Mrs C replies to SlimMy phone has a call blocker on it. Trust me. I use it. They just call from a different number or it shows up 'unknown' which can't be blocked according to my cellular carrier.
- BigA replies to Mrs CI think this bunch of criminals are located in Western New York.
- Tammy| 2 repliesI am getting calls from this number at my job. He told me today that I was being served. I asked what for and he said Fast Cash, which I have never had a loan from. I told him to send me something, and he said they did last November, which they didn't. I told him I don't owe anything, and not to call me at work. He said have fun in court. This is terrible. It does scare me, but I don't know what to do.
- Caller: J L & associate
- FYIJust got off the phone with my cell carrier. You can block any number BUT if they call unknown it will always go through. That's what I was told. good luck.
- Anonymyou should consider just not having a phone then. payday loans are for bottom feeders. obviously you have your own issues and from the looks of things lots of time! good luck.

- JNThese ass wipes called my father in law...I don't know how they got his number and associated with me especially using my maiden name!! Then when I called and told them not to call because I don't owe money and if they called again I was calling the police. Then he rudely says well best wishes in court! So damn annoying because they try to pull this every few months are so. It was fine calling me cause I can ignore and block but to involve my damn family!!! I will be glad when they get caught!!

- Melissa replies to Mrs CI took out a loan as well and hired a consolidation lawyer and found out that in my state I only have to pay back the amount borrowed but not the interest. My lawyer offered them several amounts and one being the full borrowed amount but they kept refusing it. Two years later they call from numerous numbers and threaten me. They can all all they want! and sometimes I have fun with them. Very obnoxious this one was. Oh well they will try everything
