Just received a call from this number (on my iPhone, it just showed up as 8000000611 with no dashes) and when I answered, it had already started speaking so I missed the first few words. But what I heard was "...your account has been flagged for security purposes. Please enter your customer service PIN." I did nothing but waited on the line and it hung up on me after a few seconds.

I had Sprint 4 years ago, and have been with AT&T since.

Robot call from "Sprint" asking me to enter my PIN#.  Obvious scam.  Waited on line out of curiosity - other end beeped a few times and hung up on me.  No humans.

Just got a call a second ago, decided to quickly check here before picking it up..  i guess i should have picked it up and report what they had to say..
It's awkward because i cant call them back it's on a constant busy signal, i tried using my Other phone number and it tells me "This number is unavailable for call return, GOOD BYE" - auto hangs up.

Most likely a scam started up and trying to snag someone, i hope everyone checks here first..  do not give out your Pin or any other info over the phone that auto-calls you..

Only time you give your pin out is when YOU physically call the actual company phone number yourself and go through the prompts to enter Pin info, etc..

If a company calls telling you they are some company, hang up and dial it back and if it doesn't sound like a real company when you first call report it.

Thank you for your post. I just had the same thing happen. My phone has been with Cingular/AT&T for about 6yrs now. I took my phone number with me when I left Sprint. At least now I know what's going on...

Yeah...I just got this call about 1/2 an hour ago from the same stupid number.  SCAM SCAM SCAM
I hung up and emailed Sprint.  I've had them for 10 years and never got this kind of call before on cell service.
    Stupid scammers.

Got a call from the same number 8:53pm PST, no message left.  But as listed prior...  It would have been a waste of my time.  I've had Sprint for over 10 years as well....  perhaps sprint numbers have been compromised?

    not gona say
My girl and I recieved calls from this number today. Neither of us answered but from how it sounds, it was probably the best decision.

My 2 cents are the same as many above. DONT GIVE ANY INFO, PERIOD!!! Not even your phone number (which they called you on! They should have that info on their screen in front of them). Tell them you will call them back and only call numbers you can verify are theres. If you dont know, use 411. Do not return calls to anyone giving you their direct line or extensions unless you called them in the first place.

As someone who has pissed off nearly every company who's ever called them, legit or not, they need to understand that you will not give info out when they call and will only offer it if you've contacted them directly. If they ask if you are "john/jane doe" and you are, confirm with them and ask them what its in regards to. They will want more info to verify you before explaining it. Tell them "No" and explain your position. If they are legit, they will almost always tell you the basics and you in turn call their main number back. Do not call any numbers they offer no matter what!!! For the love of God people!!! Stop giving out info!!!

    Note:

There are calls being made by unknown “scammers” to Sprint phones requesting “pin codes” for your account, saying your security has been breached.

This may not be the limit of what security information they may ask.

If you receive this call, from 1-800-000-0611, you are advised to hang up, it is not a legitimate phone call from Sprint.

Sprint will not call your numbers directly unless asked  to for troubleshooting reasons and furthermore they will not ask you any security information, they will only call the point of contacts on your account for this information.

    Thank you.

Just got this call March 14, 2011 at 7:11pm, same message as every one else, asking for pin number.  I hung up after that, and called my carrier (T-Mobile, been with them since Number Portability came out) who did take a note of it.

One note T-Mobile did advice I should call Sprint to make sure there is no activity on the old account under my name (just to be safe.)

I just recieved a call from this number as well, saying it was sprint asking for my pin number and zipcode. i transferred my account from sprint to at&t a year ago. i couldnt even remember the information, and i accidentally hit a few buttons at the same time, making my guess very wrong. the recording seemed to accept it anyway and hung up.

I got the call, which I never answered and now I received a follow up letter.  I called sprint directly and they did not know anything about this and informed me to just update my pin and password just in case.

I just got this call too, but I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. Since it was a 1800 number I figured I could google what it was, and I'm very glad I didn't answer!

I have never had Sprint - am a Verizon customer. They not only called my cell, but also my son's and we share the same account. I never give out personal information and strongly advise others not so as well.

I got this call right before 9:00 pm last night. Just like other people's experience the recording had already started so I don't know what company they claimed to be from. I noticed the "beep" we were supposed to enter our pin after sounded like a cheap sound effect. Both my mother and I have old sprint numbers but are on a t-mobile family plan for the last 3 years. We both got the call but the other members of our plan did not
