Bystander13 Nov 2007- HELP this company called me and i didn't pay when they asked now its 3 months later and ive been taken to court and my check is being garnished??????? they offered me a really good settlement and now i have to pay 3 times what they offered is there anything i can do about this???? i want to do the settlement now but its too late now dont be as stupid as me pay what you owe and dont suffer like i am going to have to for the next year my check is being garnished by 25%
- madwoman30 Nov 2007I have received several calls from this number attempting to reach an unknown person. I called to have my number removed from their database and they got and "attitude" with me. The person that they were looking for has the same last name as my maiden name so they were adamant that I knew the person. Wow! am I supposed to know everyone that has the same last name as I?
I called twice to have my number removed...each time the service reps were RUDE. Sounds like a collection agency but they will never collect their money if they continue to call my number. I don't owe them (or anybody for that matter) nor do I know the person they are looking for.- Someone named Matt from this number called me and accused me of lying when I said he must have the wrong number (Matt yelling: "Why are you lying to me?! I talked to *** several times at this number!!!) at which point I hung up. He immediately called my 91 year old grandmother and told her that he was my defense attorney (not) and worried her terribly. They must be stopped but I don't know how.
- Bothered11 Dec 2007This number keeps appearing on my id. A friend of mine called me last night to say someone from this 800 number called her father (an ederly) gentleman looking for me. How on earth could they try to find me by tracking down a friend's father?? I called the number and asked for the person who called, Susan Dwyer. She was on another call and when I asked the person who answered why they did that...that is was unethical, he was rude and had an attitude saying it wasn't unethical, it was efficent. How can we get this agency to stop calling?
- This all started about 4 months ago getting calls from GVA as stated above owed money offered me 50% settlement. I did not do settlement or payments my husband happened to lose his job around the same time. Skip ahead to early april they actually sued me for $4200. Now i get my check today and it is being garnished for 25% WHAT CAN I DO......I CANNOT AFFORD THIS I HAVE THE ONLY INCOME. PLEASE HELP ME CAN I DO ANYTHING?????
- Sick and Tired13 Dec 2007Same as everyone else, multiple calls claiming to be from Tennessee Valley Associates and when I pressed they said in New York but would not say state or city. As far as I can tell no such firm exist in NY under that name. They were rude, called me a liar, repeated a full name a SS # to me on the phone and told me good luck trying to file complaint against them.

Tell them flat out that you want them to cease and decist form calling you or anyone related to you including friends and significant others. They will be rude and not let you talk and throw the privacy act on youleft and right. This are uneducated individuals that have been trained by a scam artist and someone that couldn't make it in the real business world as a legitmate business man or woman. laugh it off but take legal action. Talk to your attorney. My attorney told me exactly what to do and called also to let them know he meant business. Genesee valley associates is a joke...they are not a legitamate collection agency, just a bunch of degenerates trying to act like they are somebody important. Contact the better business bureau and do file a complaint then write a letter and fax it to them telling them to stop the calls immediatedly. this is there fax number 585-278-1611. And for those little smurfs...pikers that post up messages telling you how you are a dead beat and should pay your bill.....I tell them all the time....get a real job and go back to school and get a degree so you wont have to rely on a bu***hit job that only pays you commissions. you guys must be starving....i wonder what your credit ratings are because you are definitley not paying your bills on such a losey payout. What a joke..collect some education rather than bogus accounts. Bunch of losers!!!! Guys don't let these blood suckers fool you into sending any money. Cut them off immediately....by doing this they will have to quit there jobs because they are broke as can be right now and starving for a huge payot.
- I received a call about my 80yr. old mother from a Ashley Simms(Hamilton)@585-273-6450- not knowing the number I did not pick up. Upon calling back@ 800-247-1993 - I was connected to a Mark Simon. Who would not give me any info, even as I explained my mothers memory was not good. Got an attitude about privaacy laws etc. Told me to contact her and have call him as this was time senstive. Who are these people, really?
