Caller requested that we call back regarding important personal message.
I made the mistake of calling back and because I just wanted to stop the calls I foolishly game them some valuable information. They first asked for my wife's birthday and then asked for verification of our phone number. I now  realize that they can find out a lot about her.

They left a message for me requesting that I call back 800 219 1038, for an urgent message.  When I called back, they requested my DOB.  I told them that I don't give out my DOB over the phone.  They said that it was to "protect" me.  Sure.  When I asked what the call was about, they claim to be from a debt collectors, John Berry and Associates, requiring that I give them my DOB so that they could give me further information.  I told them to send me a letter and hung up.

P.S, The number on my caller ID is different from the number that I was asked to call back.

They called and left a message stating it was very important that I contact them.  I called back and they claimed to be a collection agency and that I hadn't paid a physician's bill in Concord, NC.  They would not give me the name of the physician.  When I told them I had received no physician's bills, they requested my address, saying the wrong one was on file, and that they would remail the bill.   I received no bill after 2 weeks, but they called again last night with the same, "It's important that you call us message."

The caller ID is different from the number I was asked to call back.

I received a call at 8 am and I told them the person they wanted wasn't here she left this number,when I asked what it was in reference to I was told it was a business matter.

Did you ever get this matter resolved?....These same people are calling me on my cell phone and home phone wanting to speak to a family member and claim that they cannot discuss with me information but that I was given as a contact person....my family member and I have different last names too..they would not disclose any information as to what they wanted, even when I called the number back annomynously...

These same people called me and would share no information other than that they were trying to contact a family member with a different last name....they had my home phone and cell phone number...did you ever resolve this matter?

I did a google search for John Berry and Associates and I found this site.  I have not received calls from the number above (800-219-1038) however I have been receiving phone calls from both 800-230-6127 & 800-868-1899 for some time now.  I won't answer my phone if I don't know the number. Most of the time they don't leave messages.  When they do leave messages they sound very rude and nasty.
I've had only one time where they've left a message stating:
"This is John Berry & Associates and we have "Important Business Matters" to discuss with you.  CALL 800-868-1899 today."  They have yet to give a name for whom they are asking.
The rest of the messages have just been as follows:
"Please contact Susanne Simpson at 1-800-868-1899. I have an important business matter to discuss with you. 1-800-868-1899." and they hang up.
I will not call them back untill I know who exactly they are looking for and what it is about.

I received a call from these people today.  Pretty much the same as everyone else has said - the caller ID shows a different number than the number they ask you to call and the message claims "This is not a telemarketing call, we have an important business matter to discuss with you".  I only answer calls from the people that I have given my phone number to.

Just received a call from the 1-800-868-1899.  They said they needed to talk to (gave my son's name) about an important business matter.  I told him that he doesn't live here.  Was asked if for his phone number. I asked for more details of what it was concerning and the person's reply was (my son's name) would know and he could tell me.  I didn't give him the phone number but asked what company was calling.  That's what led me to this site.  I suspect it is a collection agency only because my son has had some insurance paying a medical bill problem.  I will be calling my son to find out what he knows.

Jon Barry is a collection agency that a local hospital in NC uses. Their offices are opened 7 days a week and from about 8am to 9pm. I have a friend that works in the billing office and he told me that their collection office is with Jon Barry and Associates. NEVER GIVE OUT INFO TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I also have received calls from this same number.  Most of you are right, it does belong to John Berry & Associates.  I received a letter from them stating I owed hundreds of dollars to a doctor's office I never heard of or got a bill from.  I don't discuss any of these type matters over the phone, so I wrote them a letter myself, disputing the charges that they have now decided to call about.  In my letter, it specifically states that under no circumstance will I discuss any financial matter over a phone line.  Since I never received a bill from the doctor originally I asked them to contact them, get the information, mail me the itemized details and if after I look them over I agree the charges are legitimate, then I will make payment arrangements.  Most of you are smart.  Never, ever give out your birthdate to anyone.  Turn it back on them; have them tell you what they have on file and maybe you'll tell them if they're correct.  And remember, this is how they find other family members so be careful what information you give out.  This probably wasn't a lot of help, but I felt good venting.  Oh, I never said that in the past three days, they have left me 17 messages.  They are persistent.

Been getting these calls all month. Odd, since all of MY medical bills are up to date. But hey, they can leave all of the messages they want, as I don't plan on calling the boneheads back anytime soon. The message is pretty much as above about an important issue. Sure. I'll call them right away.

In addition to the 800-219-1038 number they are now using a local 704 number and making it sound as though it is a "personal" call. The number they left is 704-783-1880. Still John Berry and Assoc.

They call, but won't send bills so you can keep up with payments.  NE in Concord doesn't give you a chance to pay your bill and turn it over to Jon Berry really fast.

A "debt collector" called a relative requesting that I call back at 800 219 1038, for an urgent message.  When I called back, I asked what the call was about.  They claimed to be from John Berry and Associates Collection Agency, and that they were calling to collect a debt in my 16 yr old daughter's name (which they knew).  They asked if I was her father and asked me to give them my date of birth.  I told them that I don't give out my DOB over the phone.  They said that it was to "protect" me.  I told them it would be stupid of me to give out such information when they were not willing to share any additional info with me about the reason for the call.  They told me to call back when I was comfortable giving them the information they needed, but that they would send out a final notice (to what address???).  By the way, the number they called from (800-230-6127) is not the number they gave my relative for me to call them back.  An obvious scam!

Monica with John Berry & Associates asked for a party that does not live here and left word for me to tell her they had important business matters to discuss with her and for her to call 1-800-868-1899. I did check the phone number through Google and it shows they are a collection agency for a hospital in North Carolina.  I do not know how they got her name or my phone number.  She does not owe a hospital bill and certainly not in North Carolina, a place she has never been.

A lady named "Kim" called here this morning looking for my wife. I tracked the number and found this site. We first received a letter from John Barry & Assoc. last week trying to collect for a $32.68 bill that my wife owed Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. We had never received a bill from the hospital, so I called them to find out what was going on. They couldn't explain why we had never received a bill, but wants to take payment over the phone. I smell something fishy...

Caller left message for a very important matter.  The number they told me to call was 1-800-868-1899. The number they called me from was 1-800-230-6127.  They would not give me any information other than they were John Berry and Assoc.  he kept asking for my telephone number for which i refused.

This number is for Jon Berry and Associates in Concord NC. They are a collection agency for hospitals including Carolinas Medical Centers.  They are very unethical and need to be stoppd. The owner is Jon Barry McCall and contact him directly at 135 Chestnut Tree Rd. Mooresville, NC and is number is 704-664-1190. The Vice President is Brylan Gann who lives in Concord NC.  An internet search will find him.  Report these people to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
