They called twice in about 5 weeks, left the same phone and extension (1 800 232 1258 x1061), but two different names:  Fred Gibbs and Craig Yost.

I called them back, told them my wife and I had shared finances, and they asked for her middle initial.  I gave them the case number, and said "you tell me what you THINK her middle initial is."  Sure enough, they had it wrong.

Craig was actually pretty nice about it, and apologized, and promised to take our number out of their system

I got the same call fom someone name Jennifer. But it is from 1-800-323-1258. I looked up that number and it took me here. She had called someone else and gave my information and claimed I owe so-so much amount? I was informed of this from the people she had called.

1.) I thought it was against the law to disclose any personal information to other people???

2.) I called before with a different number given from a different caller. They did NOT have my information in their system. They were not able to bring up my name. Then they asked for my phone number to bring up my info. I did not want to give it. Then they asked me for my social security number? Like I would give that. If I'm not in the system by first and last name, then why would I give them my info and I requested that they stop calling. But they still keep calling and even giving away my personal information to other people.

I get calls at my work place too and they would leave several messages a day. They would also call my front desk to be transferred to me. They would say they are with a dept collections agencies then the front desk ask who they were?? That is UNPROFESSIONAL!!! And they also call my parent's house and they just moved and got a new number. I don't know how they got it in their database. I haven't lived with my parents for over 15 yrs. I never referenced their number anywhere. And they give my information and claiming I "owe" this much amount? I don't even know who these people are. I even called back and they did not have me on file. They had left my case# with my parents and they were not able to bring that up? They wanted my number and my SSN to look it up??? I refuse to give that. If they cannot find me with their "case number" or with my first and last name, then don't bother me. Especially at work. It's very unprofessional.

    STOP PAYING
These idiots will harass and annoy anyone. They are totally unprofessional. My advice is simple-- do not pay them or answer any of their questions.

got a call from craig yost just now. he wouldn't give me any info as to what company he works for or anything. he just kept demanding that i verify i owe him a debt. based off dave's plan, i told him to mail me info about how i own him or his company this debt. he kept stepping around trying to get me to state that i owe any debt. i wouldn't confirm or deny any information until he told me who he was and what company he worked for. he hung up. i think for fun im going to keep calling him back and harass him until he gives me the info im demanding. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO OR VERIFY ANYTHING UNTILL THEY PROVE IT'S VALID! Bottom feeder companies like this will gain access to your bank account and drain it!

My husband had a voicemail at work from 800-232-1258 xt 1205.  The guy said he was the IRS.  We don't owe the IRS any money so I plugged in the phone number and it lead me here.  I'm glad to know it is not the IRS.

This number belongs to ARS - Associated Recovery Systems. If you want the calls to stop, you can send a cease and disist letter to this address; 960 S. Andreason Dr. #B Escondido, CA 92029. You'll need to call them first (be careful which number you call from - all 800 numbers have ANI - Automatic Number Identification and you can NOT block it. ANI is much better than Caller ID) and get your account number. Or if you have any mail (most likely you will if they have been calling you then they've also been mailing you too). Once you have your account number, just find a good cease and disist letter on the internet and send it to them two ways. 1) Regular mail. 2) Registered mail - return receipt requested. Then they will have to stop contacting you based on the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

    Just annoyed
Got a call from them looking for someone named Walter, who apparently has used my phone number in the past on credit card apps. Since his last name is similar to mine, I get a bunch of these calls. The person I spoke to was at extension 1095, would not tell me what the call was about, but when I told her this dude had never lived at my address (I built this house, so pretty sure.....), she said she would take me off the list. We'll see.

Gloria Roberts from ARS called my company's main line and asked for one of our employees by name.  I suspected this was a nuisance call, and said he was not available.  She asked me to pass on a reference number and ask him to call.  Came here to check it out, and as expected - bogus!  Thanks for this resource.
