I received a call from this number, and it was the Citi® IdentityMonitor® service.

I got a call from this number and it was a recording asking me to verify my social security number. Sounds like a fraud to me. But I haven't found any other reports from the same number. Still not giving in though. They'll find another way to give me that "important message" if it's real.

Didn't answer, but they hung up when answer machine picked up. Anybody legitimate would have left a message. Which is why I dont answer my phone unless they are already in my phone book.

I received a call from this number and they did leave a message informing me that my email address
needed to be updated since they have been trying to reach me unsuccessfully. They didn't ask for any information, only gave a number to call back for customer assistance and a website if I would rather do it online. Th company is Identity Guard and I have used them in the past so this wasn't totally unsolicited.

I got a call from this number.  A recorded voice asked for the last four digits of my SSN.  I hung up and called the number back.  A recorded voice said it was Credit Monitoring Service an asked for my 8-digit reference number.

Received calls and phone message.  Caller claimed to be from Identity Guard and wanted last four digits of SSN.  Has called again.  I called no. back and got woman's recorded voice claiming to be calling from a Merrill Lynch office in California.  Checked with Identity Guard--not one of their numbers.  Caller had info from Identity guard re my account!!

This was absolutely a legitimate call.  It was my identity guard service trying to get an update on my email address.  I had recently switched servers and forgot to notify them.  You should check with your service or bank or whatever to find out what this call is about.

Simple, if they call and you don't know the number don't answer their call. They'll get the message.

If you don't know the number, don't answer it!

I received a call from this number stating they were Citi Identity Monitor and a message was left to return the call and Provide the Reference Number left in the voice-mail due to activity on my credit report today that needs to be validated. I called back and keyed in the Reference Number. First time after selecting the # sign after entering the number I received an Automated "Thank You" and was disconnected. The second time I received dead air for 3 minutes and hung up.  

It made me nervous so I contacted Citi Identity monitor @ 1-866-279-9637. They stated to NEVER call that number back because it could not be verified as one of their numbers and was happy to hear that I did not provide any of my personal information. They stated that the only number that should be utilized for verification is 1-866-279-9637.

Got call from this number that stated it was from Identity Guard. I do have their service but never got a phone call before. It was a recording type call. It said there was some activity and to call their reference number.  It also said to call or log into the website. I logged into the website and found NO new activity. I called the number ON the website (which was different than this number).  They said they had not contacted me and didn't know what this number was. So.. I didn't call it back and don't intend to.

Legitimate: Identity Guard making your aware of activity on your account. If you don't prefer to call back then log on to your Identity Guard account and get your messages.

1-800-234-3808 Is Identity Guard (www.identityguard.com/‎) Customer Service is 1-800-452-2541. Costco Members should call 1-866-818-0874 if they signed up for service through Costco. It is their automated alert. Apparently their system lost my cell phone number and this was their way to get in touch with me. I did not enter my last four as I imagine this type of call would be easy to spoof. Hang up and call them back.

I got a voice mail to call the tollfree number for identity monitor and enter a code.  I got a long message asking me to hold for the next available and then a message that I had to call back later. During that time another number came through the system that  number 603-458-5652. That number also should be reported. I did log on to identity monitor and there were no alerts.

Received telephone message on my answering machine from 800-234-3898 which reported my identity had been used and requested I return this call to this number with a case number provided in the message from this caller "Identity Guard". I checked with Identity Guard regular telephone number and they reported they had not called!.

Robot call, said it was from Identity Guard and asked me to enter the last four digits of my social security to retrieve an urgent notification.
SCAM.

Robocall to my cell phone.  Said it was Identity Guard with an important message for me.  To verify my identity, all I needed to do was enter the last 4 digits of my SSN.  I hung up.  I called Identity Guard to verify.  They did not make the call.   No idea who it really was.  Number now blocked
