I received a  on my cell phone # caller ID (800) 234-9071 saying the
following on my VM and when I try to find info on the numbers I only get a small amount of info on this chat list about the 866 number but nothing having to do with the message I received. Can anyone help or have maybe received a similiar type of call. I have reported it to the FCC

"I am calling because YOU are Under spiritual
attack. The enemy has been plotting against your finances, family
situations and even relationship concern. I could not stop crying for
you so I needed to call you PERSONALLY. I want to have the saints come
together and pray for you,
call this number and join my prayer club 800-234-9071. The plan of the
enemy should be put at rest if you call this number and leave your
information."

Yes, I received the same message on my cell phone.

This guy is trying to execute a scam in the name of
Jesus.  Not cool.

a voicemail from a messenger of God...

Even though my numbers are on the Do-Not-Call registry [complaint filed], it didn't stop this guy who calls himself "prophet" from calling my cell phone number. He even had my name. He says he KNOWS I'm going through the toughest time of my life right now and wants me to join his prayer club. Well, "prophet", guess again, I'm doing pretty well in all aspects, probably thanks to my life-long atheism, so thanks again for your "concern" but no thanks.

Wow... they just called my phone too and I'm glad I didn't answer after reading this... a messenger from God... how in the heavens did they get my cell phone #?

He keeps talking about you need a financial miracle and then says push 0 so he can "get your information and pray for you" then he again says, push 0 to be transferred to the prayer CLOSET! something definitely sounds FISHY.... SCAM ARTIST!! BEWARE

Hahaha check out the timestamps of all our notes here. Talk about a sudden rash of calls. Awesome. Same message from THE PROPHET as everyone else. Called back from a payphone, left a few fun messages, filed complaint with the FCC.

What'd be great is if we could track down the owner and call them in kind…

Oh wow, this guy is on a roll. He just left me a nutty message about how he was praying for me and how I should press 0 for the prayer closet. Ugh, how did my number get on his list so he can inflict his crazy on me...

Yep. Looks like they've been hitting lots of numbers today. I'm not on DNC, though. Interesting twist on the telemarketing scam -- if it is a scam. Not sure where unsolicited "prayer" calls fall in the legal spectrum. Definitely has hallmarks of a scam, though. And I'm not in need of the "financial miracle" that the prophet wanted to help me pray for.

Anyone catch the name he offers in the beginning of the call?

It's a robocaller. It's dialing numbers at random or they've bought black market information from one of the many, many security breaches at big firms.

Girlfriend just got same call. Is I possible that he is somehow charging you for calling back despite the "800" #?

Received this voicemail yesterday from this number. "God urged me to pray for you. You are the only one missing from the prayer closet. Press 0 to be transfered to the prayer closet so this way I can have your information and begin praying for you. Your struggle will be over. Your miracle is right around the corner." This breaks my heart; sounds like he's trying to scam people using the Lord's name.

What's new? People have used the myth of god to scam each other for centuries. Why, if god didn't really exist, we'd have to make him up! Ooops, we already did :)

Looks like the calls came from the Manasseh Jordan Ministries, a New York-based faith-based organization. I went through their process -- under an alias -- and ended up on their mailing list I believe. We'll see. I've asked the FTC for comment on religious robodialing for an article I'm writing at cmn.com.

I got a call to my cell phone from this number today.

Just got it. No messages.

Got 3 calls in the last few days. They left me voice mail to call back. I am going to block them.
