This number calls my cell phone.  Called back the number... a mortgage company answered and asked if I was (someone else).  I told them no and that the person they were looking for was no longer at the number (my cell number).  The apologized and indicated they would remove my cell number from their list.

This number is calling a ridiculous number of times in a day without leaving a message.  Most likely SPAM or SCAM.  Adding to blacklist.

Calls numerous times during the day and evening.  Does not leave a message and is becoming annoying.

This number calls several times a day. Never leaves a message so I am thinking it is just another solicitation for something I do not want or need. My number is on the National Do Not Call List, so why do I continue to get these?

Not only is this number calling my work line several times a day and not leaving a message, but when I pick up they do not respond.  Making me crazy.

This number calls me numerous times a day. Sometimes within 5 minutes they will call back again. It is driving me nuts and I'm on the "do not call" registry. What the heck!?!?!?

This number keeps calling all hours and when I answer no one is there it they hang up right away!!!!

as in regards to 1-800-238-1975 is a company called ASCENT RENT TO OWN for people who want to rent to own a house, townhome, etc. they called me 2 times in the last hour and didnt leave a message i found out this info today after some investigating just wanted to let you know

Thank you so much for your post.  They continue to call my phone and don't leave messages or talk when I do answer.  I made the mistake of looking @ this site when on craigslist. OMG

you are welcome i made that mistake too they just called me again too 3 times since 11:30 this morning i wish they would stop you figured they would give up after days of me not answering DUH!!!!

Same issue here. They have been texting me also. I replied STOP. I have listed texting and do not need unsolicited text messages. VERY inconsiderate!!

First, they sent an illegal text: I've never done business with them and my number has been on the do not call list since 2005. I replied "STOP" to the text and think that's when they verified my number. They then called 5 times in one day. I called them back and told them to stop called and stop texting. Before I finished, they hung up. Second call put me on indefinate hold. Third call to them and they hung up again. Fourth call I finally got the "owner" Chris, who was very rude, hostile and totally unhelpful. I've since filed an FCC complaint and will file BBB complaints as well. They are a shady, unprofessional, business that deserves to be run to the ground

Keep calling me several times a day, and never left any message. My caller ID displayed 8002381975 as a caller name.

I have received three calls this morning from 800-238-1975 as well as four text messages for Rent to Own. I am on the National Do-Not-Call list so this is an illegal message to me.

Same compliant as above, it's just after 10a.m. & they've call us 8 times.  When we answer there's no response?  We're on Do Not Call also.  

The genius who had my cell # before me continues to use it (and not pay his bills- VICTOR MARTINEZ: UPSTANDING CITIZEN!) but these geniuses called, asked for Victor, and HUNG UP ON ME before I could tell them to remove MY number. I then received a text "thank you for signing up with united rent to own!" so I called THAT number (888-941-4640, same company) and the MF that answered HUNG UP ON ME. Finally, third time, a slightly less rude gentleman said he'd put my number in the DNC list. We'll see.

Dafuq is wrong with these people. Gah.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
