- skylarkvt| 3 repliesI received a call today from 1-800-240-1195 but they didn't leave a message or anything, just saw the # on my caller Id.
- jules68second call in two days. didn't answer. they leave a message that they are trying to collect a debt. I have excellent credit and do not and have never been reported to a collection agency. From what I gather online, this is not a valid attempt to collect a debt but I don't know what they are trying to pull.
If you get this call, report it to the FCC. maybe we can all make a difference. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html- Caller: collection agency
- Richard OOn 11/5/07 I received a total of six (6) calls to my cellular phone. Each time, I had my cell phone in my possession for all six calls. The calls began at 12:48 PM and the last call came in at 4:29 PM. Intervals between calls were one hour and 32 minutes, 52 minutes, and 41 minutes. two calls were not registered in the phone as the phone only rang one time. At no time was I able to receive the calls as the originator disconnected prior to me being able to connect. No messages were ever left in each instance. In accorance with N.H. RSA644:4 I (a). (Harassment) "A person is guilty of a misdemeanor, and subject to prosecution in the jurisdiction where the communication originated or was received, if such person makes a telephone call, whether or not a conversation ensues, with no legitimate communicative purpose or without disclosing his or her identity and with a purpose to annoy another." I found this to be annoying as my work was interupted each time by the ringing on my telephone.

- Debt Free Finance MBAToday 11/06/07, I received a message on my answering machine from one Bob of CBCS in connection with a Debt. Type of debt whether mortgage, Student loan, Medical bill, Auto,Credit Card or Credior or amount were not specified. Wants me to call 1-800-240-1195. I googled the number noting its from NH collection agency. Also my home phone is on the do-not-call list.
Clearly, whoever is using this number must be a scammer! If you are certain I'm owing you as you claim, mail me a statement of indebtedness and better still, put it on my credit report, Scammer! I'm sure to report this to the FCC too.- Caller: CBCS

- 18002401195| 1 replyI have been receiving several calls on my cell phone with no messages. Finally I answered it to see what it was about and they said they were a collection agency and that my husband had a debt out for $60 and that I needed to pay it right away. I have also received these calls at home and my number is on a do not call list.

- 1-800-240-1195Called several times and a man named Bob finally left a message with my parents (I have not lived there in over a year). I called the number back and asked for Bob. They said no one by that name works there.
- Keeps hanging upI receive calls from this number about once every other week for months, but any time I answer I get disconnected. Makes me wonder if it's automated. Since I have no debts, this can't be legimate.
- danthey have called and left messages or hung up many times. When I call back they ask for my number and then for my wife and will give me no info, Very annoying.

- Mike OA message was left with the number identifying themselves as CBCS.
They have a web page (http://www.cbcsnational.com), but do not list a contact phone number. I do not call these collection people back unless I can confirm they are a valid collection agent.
Unfortunately, I appear to be recipient of a number that used to belong to someone with bad credit as I seem to get these calls all the time. Just got another one today from T-Mobile.- Caller: CBCS

- Teed off| 1 replyI recieved a call from 800-240-1195 this morning, they did not leave a message on my cell phone. I called them back and it was CBCS trying to collect a debt for a local hospital that my daughter went to last year. My daughter is 5 years old and has insurance. I told the lady that it was not a valid debt, and she said yes it was, it was after insurance. First off, she doesnt have my insurance info so she had no clue what she was talking about. My daughters insurance covers everything for her, and I mean everything. She then told me that she needed an alternate phone number, my address and where I worked. I told her that I would not give her that information and she said that she will enter me into the system as non compliant with her requests. I told her she had no business asking me those questions. So again, another invalid debt through cbcs, its just an attempt to get personal info from people. BEWARE!!!

- California NativeI am 99% sure I do not have any uncollected debts. However, we recently have moved cross country and things may have been lost in the shuffle. Possible, yet highly unlikely.
For the last three months, we have been getting infrequent messages on our voicemail. To my recollection, the voice message goes as follows: This is (male name...unfortunately I forgot it) from CBCS. I am trying to collect a debt and any information regarding this will be used for those purposes".
As one person has said before, if I really do owe a debt...put it in the mail. I don't give information or money over the phone.
The phone calls are now a nuisance. They let the phone ring once or twice and hang up.- Caller: CBCS

CSBC seems to be legitimate...received a call 02/22/08 about a Hospital $49.00 bill back in March of 2003 (Give me a break!) Anyway, I just verified the services and delinquent amount directly w/ the Hospital Billing Dept. - irate but informed| 1 reply7:10pm - My cell phone rings while I'm doing the dishes after a long day.
7:20pm - I check phone and see missed call from 800-240-1195. No message. I call # immediately. Man answers, pleasantly enough, and I explain that I just got a call but no message from that number. He asks me for my phone number (which, if I am not mistaken, is probably on the screen right in front of him - mine has been visible to every friend and company I have ever dealt with, as far as I know) and I refuse to give it to him. Then I ask why someone from his company would call me without leaving a message. He says he can only answer that if I give him my number and name! I ask if it is his company's policy not to leave messages. He repeats himself in a much coarser manner. The exchange deteriorates from there. He ends the call by hanging up on me after I ask to speak with a supervisor for the third time. I call back. He answers and hangs up on me twice. The third time I call, a different man (finally!) answers. He gives me the same song and dance, albeit in a much more polite tone. I ask him for the name of the company, which he gives me. I explain to him that in this day and age of information and identity theft, every company ought to be leaving a message when they call. It should, in my opinion, be required by law for consumer protection. I also told him I'd be reporting them to the BBB, which I will do online immediately following this post! Never supply info!- Caller: CBCS Credit Services

- Baxter| 1 replyHave recieved multiple calls from these ppl. Have not answered the phone but twice. First time was automatically put on hold, so I hung up after a while. 2nd time, rude caller demanded my name. I asked who they were and they just said CSBC. Again they pushed their abrasive demanding questions about my Identity. When I told them to stop calling this number they said they would keep on calling unless I told them my name, and then the caller hung up. I called them back and they said I was being rude to them and to tell them their name. I told them that are not to call this number again. I asked what they do and they said they deal with private business matters and again demanded my name. I again told them to stop calling this number and I would not provide them with any information, they again said that they will keep on calling until I do.
I live in NH, this is clearly misdemeanor harrassment. I will contact them this evening to find out where they are located, and report them to the police if I am lucky enough for them to have been calling me from within NH. Im not sure about other states, but here it is a criminal offence - not just a civil dispute.- Caller: CSBC

- whazoo replies to BaxterThey called me yesterday, but blocked their ID.
I got the "Who is this" routine. I asked for their number to call back, and was given the 800-240-1195 number which is how I found this list.
Interestingly, they are calling my NH cell phone number, but I no longer live in NH. Wonder what this does to the whole issue. I should see if they are licensed in my state. If they are not, I'll call back nicely and inform them that they need to get a different agency.
I did a quick check and my state does require collection agencies (ie collecting a debt for another) to be licensed. However, CSBC has an out if they only use interstate telephone and interstate mail. Bummer.
I guess I'll call them back tonight and find out what's up. Ask for verification etc.
