- Carol| 2 repliesI also just saw an unauthorized charge on my credit card for 28.50....what is this??????Thieves
- Sean's sister| 1 replyCharge 19.45$ on my brother's debit card (he's 15 years old) along with other fraud charges that showed up mysteriously in the past few days. We called the number and it just puts you on hold for unknown amounts of time. We're also having Visa trace the charge.
- Donna replies to Sean's sisterGlad I'm not the only one this has happened to. I've got a $122 charge on my credit card from the same company. Tried calling, but end up on eternal hold. Has anyone gotten any resolution to the matter? If so, what did you do? I made a call from a payphone in CA.
- PerryTalking to my credit card company right now as well -- looks like it is a fraud.
- burned too. replies to Steve S| 2 repliesYes, this just happened to me as well. I used my credit card on a payphone on the CA coast. I left a 23 second message with a friend and returned home to find a $68.55 charge on my Credit Card. The charge says: CTI COLLECT CALL 800-2413965 NV. This was NOT a collect call. I Googled the company to find their website and phone number. The first attempt yeilded a receptionist that could hear that I was angry, accused me of being rude and hung up on me. I waited a while and tried again and was put through to "customer service" who after a moment put her supervisor on. I explained that I examined the list of Tarrifs available through their website and that the charges were not disclosed as per my charges. She tried to work through the call with attempts to change the subject at first but eventually she reduced the charges to $7.86 as per the disclosed rates. The reimbursed amount will not show up for a few days. I am not holding my breath.
- Sam| 1 replygot a 17 dollar bill for about a 3 minute call from Hume Lake, Ca to Bakersfield, Ca - I'm on hold now I dialed 1-800-672-9080 and they answered
right away, but put me on hold with their customer service - I've been on hold for over 22 minutes...hmmmm???? the automatic voice said there were only 3 people in front of me....hmmmm??.... - AdrianI just called them. I got a call last night and was on the line for like 15 seconds. I was charged $14.70. She broke the charge down and said they charge $3.56 per min with a 3 min minimum and they have a $4.99 connection charge. Anyway, I think it's terrible to pay that much for no time. You get no explanation of charges. She also said a live operator would have told him the charge. Guess what? Surprise Surprise, there was NO live operator. It was automated. And you don't get any money back.
- Call type: Valid
- Tom replies to burned too.I made two LOCAL calls. They charged me $36.32 for a two minute call and $20.83 for a one minute call. When I called them I got the "all representatives are busy recording" for a half an hour, until I gave up. My credit card company says its out of their hands, and what these scumbags did was perfectly legal.
Any ideas on what we can do?
