- BeccaNew home phone number for 3 months now--very private and have not given out to ANYone. Registered with www.donotcall.gov right away. Have received calls as early as 8am and 7:30 (roughly) at night while trying to have dinner with my family. Have asked SEVERAL times to be removed from their list, and reminded them the # is on Do Not Call Registry. Obviously didn't get the point. Asked to speak to supervisor, and got told off and called a liar. How are you going to tell ME off when YOU'RE calling MY personal number?? Was told they're on Better Business Bureau and never received a complaint before. I was also sarcastically given a false tutorial on how I can and can't complain on the do not call registry. FYI you do NOT have to wait 60 days, you can file report after 31 days. UNBELIEVABLE.

- MukeshI got the call and offering San Francisco Chronicle for entire year for $19.99 - They asked for Credit Card Number for billing. Itold them how can be I sure that San Francisco Chronicle is calling - they give me the number to call back. I did but could not get through. It seems to be scam to me.
- TerryReceived call soliciting a subscription to The Gainesville Sun newspaper. Offered me weekends only for $7.00. I told them I would renew for weekends only and asked them to send me a bill. They said they couldn't do that, had to renew now, wanted credit card. I told them I would not give out my credit card number to an unknown person on the telephone. Gave me 800-243-3101 to speak to "supervisor." I told them that wouldn't solve the problem either. I tried to reach someone at the Gainesville Sun, but it was after hours, so no verification was available. The caller called back and I told him I was sorry, but under the circumstances I could not give out my credit card number. Don't know if this is legit or not, but several things make it suspect. The number was listed as a land line in Oakland, CA

- Bill OI got a call offering the Seattle Times for $1 per week for the online paper and a hard copy delivered on Sunday. They wanted my address and credit card number. I, obviously, did not give them any info but wanted a number to call to verify the legitimacy of her offer. She gave me the above number for her supervisor with a confirmation number of 4157358. Some people are going to fall for this CRAP. They've been calling for more than a week and for some reason I answered it this time.
- Caller: Calling service for the Seattle Times (lol)
- MikeGot a call offering Seattle times for 2.99 a week. Wanted credit card info over the phone. I told them I wasn't going to give the credit card over the phone. Beware, obviously a scam. NEVER give your credit card on a call you did not initiate! Please do not fall for this credit card scam!!!!!

- NewsPaperSubscriberWriting this because I had a good outcome to share. Always beware of strangers calling you >> Do your own search for your newspaper phone number and make your own call to your newspaper directly. As described in this list - Telemarketer call from this phone number said they were Seattle Times Promo Dept. Great deal offered but I don't give any info to strangers that randomly call. They gave me a promo code and a phone number to call. Again, I'm not calling a number I was given based on direction from a stranger. I looked up and called the Seattle Times DIRECTLY > using the phone number that I always used for subscription services.. The Customer Service told me that > Yes > they do indeed use a promo company. I told them I would not use the promo company and asked would they honor the promo rate >>>I was pleasantly surprised with a Yes. I'm just another random person on line so don't trust my word - Do your own homework and keep your information safe from strangers.
