This is Financial Services or Progressive Financial Services. On the Edinburgh TX Hwy 8 near Farmers Market in Dallas TX.

They are nasty nasty, for 14 months now they have called hung it sometimes they ask for Erica Chancellor or something to this extent. Sometimes a different names. Sometimes they leave this or another 800 number on my recorder..

I have told these idiots I do not know this person, have never heard of this person and please don't call, better not call, going to report you to the Attorney General's Office and the moron stated "I will call any time I get ready and there is nothing you can do about it".

I've never lived in Texas or bought any thing they would be trying to collect for. Never met this Erica person. Never make a loan with this bunch.

I got a message from a Facebook friend who I have not seen in 30 years saying that they could not locate me but knew I had surgery recently and wanted my number.  Evidently they can call your friends until they have contact info for you but there are 20 people with my name on Facebook.  Unbelievable.
Go hide who can see your friendlist!  I will call them tomorrow, give them my number then instruct them not to call.  If they have a good number they can't call your friends.

stop calling me...regarding some financial issue about a family member.....I have read nothing but negative posts about this "pseudo" debt collecting agency...I plan to block the humber

Someone named Paul Day is calling me from this number. He claims that he is representing the US Department of Education about my student loans but they are caught up. He is the third person from them to call me. They do not call my personal numbers but they call my office number even though they have been told not to and the office manager talked to them and told them not to call the office as well but they do it anyway. At first they were calling the 800 number here and then they started calling the direct line and the local phone that we have here demanding to speak with me. I am reporting them to the Attorney General's office. This is ridiculous.

These scum bags just started calling me about 2 weeks ago, they call back to back like every hour on the hour and on weekends.  They even called my husband at his work asking him from my personal info like what my social security number was!!  They left me several voice messages leaving a call back name & extention number...when I call back there IS NO SUCH PERSON with that name!  WHAT THE F?!  It sounds like a phishing scam to me.  When I would not give them my social over the phone until they told me specifically what "debt" they were trying to collect they would not tell me, and then they asked for my date of birth and address!  I have never received anything in writing from these people. BEWARE, SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME!  NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO TO UNIDENTIFED PERSON ON THE TELEPHONE!!!!!!

If this is a legit company, I would shocked. The first question asked for was my social security number. They hounded me a work. If they are legit, you would think something through the mail or my home phone number would also be reached.

I'm really only a middle school student and I'm seeing this number collecting debts? What kind of debts could I even have? Just ignore this number. Maybe even block it. They call 24/7 and interrupt everything.

These mofo's have been calling me for years -- yes, years!!  I've tried everything I can think of to get them to stop calling me.  They just don't get it.  Dumb [***] people working for a sleezy scumbag outfit.  

These [***] have been calling me and I just called them back and was as annoying as possible and they got really pissed. Its fun prank calling scam artists haha (yeah they're a scam)

Just called me at my office number.  I almost picked it up because the caller ID said "Progressive" and my fiancé has Progressive auto insurance.  SO GLAD I DIDN'T ANSWER.  I have student loan debt, that is truth.  But harassment isn't going to make me magically obtain more money, so really no point in even picking up the phone.  Looks like they are major [***], big freaking surprise there.

I started to receive a call from them (my caller ID either shows Progressive Finianl or Unknow).  They did not leave a message if I don't answer the phone.  Tonight I answered the phone and they seems like have all of my information and want to talk about my credit card debt.  I told them I don't have any and I don't need their services and I asked them to remove my number from their list.  Then he just being nasty and hung up.  

How can I prevent them to call me or any of my friends?

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Progressive Financial service has been calling me for over a year. When I figured out it was for a school loan I thought it was a federal school loan. We all know we don't get out of paying those.. I gave them so much info thinking the were the feds collecting a loan from 1988. They said they could levy my bank accts and take my business. They said they could work on lowering my payment if I would pay it in full that day. YAH RIGHT! I said I would crunch numbers and get back to them. I checked into the loan consolidation program Obama is offering... Come to find out I had private loans. The Feds don't have any interest in me. They needed me to commit to a price to pay. for them to have any grounds for repayment. Come to find out. They were breaking the law by leading me to believe they were the feds. It was illegal for them to say they can levy my accts or take my business. I found an attorney online who spoke to me in person and explained even though I gave them a ton of info the way they went about getting that info was illegal. I was able to retain this attorney for free. I was able to call the creditor and ask them to stop calling me. I have legal representation and if they need to speak to me they can call him. I haven't heard from them again. If they were to call me again it's against the law. I could get a settlement for how they went about all of this. I hope you find this helpful? You do not file FDCPA or TCPA claims with your Attorney General.  In passing the FDCPA in 1977, Congress specifically mandated that offending collectors pay the attorney's fees and costs of consumers.  The Act does not allow for the possibility of attorney's fees and costs, but requires them.  Congress wanted private lawyers to act as "private attorneys general" to stop collector abuse.  An FDCPA claim is filed by an attorney for consumers in court.

Lots of folks here claim to have done everything imaginable to stop these abusive collectors from calling.  Have you ever sough the help of a consumer attorney?  the Nation Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA.org) has a website to find a consumer attorney in your area.  Most offer free consultations and if you have a claim, as stated in the Act, the collectors pay your attorney's fees.

You know what makes abuse collectors stop?  A lawsuit.  Hit them in the checkbook and they won't bother you again.
