Call soliciting money for "chiefs of police" to support amber alert programs. Stated that money was needed for expensive equipment. Pressed caller for what the expensive equipment was, caller then switched to expensive training. This set off my bogus alert.

Called to ask for money. When I said who for it was bogus they hung up. Won't take me off list. Now just calls and lets it ring a few times and hangs up.

Called at 12:46pm on December 28 2007 to my lawrence Kansas business. Said his name and that he was with the Kansas Chiefs of Police. When asked who he was with a few times he got mad and asked to speak to the owner. I told him he sounded like a telemarketer and that I wouldnt let him speak with the owner-which made him furious

I HATE these bogus police charity calls.  No, I won't donate this year, or any other year!

Got a call along the same lines.  Said his name was Chad Purdy or something similar.  Kind of a jerk.  Hung up when I transferred him to the obnoxious guy in our office.  Heh.

I got a second call from this guy.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry.  Do not give this guy your credit card #.

Didn't answer. Never do when its a number I don't know.  They've called here before and told them the same thing. NO NO NO.  Why should I give my hard earned $$$$ to people who don't take the hint and keep calling???  Plus, I need ever $$ I can get with the price's going up!!!!  If they call again, I'm going to put my 3year old on the phone, that should tick them off.

Called our office this morning, I didn't answer the call, figured if it was important, they'd leave a message.  Then I checked here, and my thoughts were confirmed . . .just another telemarketer.

This is a legitimate call.  I received a call, gave them my credit card number and days later received a letter in the mail with a car decal along with an official letter from the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police.  If you think this call is a scam, it's not.  Support your law enforcement, proudly and without worries of a scam or theft, I was very relieved after reading the above posts that it wasn't what I feared.
