collection company using this number as a callback number, which I do not have any collections, so I am trying to call them back to let them know that the person they are looking for does not live at my home, and the number goes to a questnet mail....cannot leave message...

I have no idea who this company is looking for as I have received several messages over the last two or three months only with an obviously pre-recorded message (always the same one) on which can be heard:
..."to 1 800 258 8074, and a representative will assist you, again it is important you contact us today at 1 800 258 8074. Thank you."  Strangely enough if I try to pick up this call, there is a dead line.  Today, I did not have a forever dead line and after a lengthy pause, someone asked for "Morgan Johnson".  I said that they have been calling this number erroneously for a long time, but that they must have a wrong number.

I've heard Allied Interstate cold calls people regarding a debt from a major company(like AT&T) in the hopes that you had an account with them and then harrass you to pay the debt that they haven't even bought the rights to.  They do buy old debts as well, but are not entitled to call you.  
I never answer and most importantly never call them back.  If you make contact with them on the phone, the calls just get worse.  You can send a certified, return-requested letter to the company, telling them to no longer contact you by phone.  That's the legal way to go about it, but considering how lazy I am, I just never answer and eventually they go away.  I don't know for sure if this number is for Allied Interstate, but they have called me before using other numbers.  A few months had gone by and now this 800-258-8074 is calling with a slightly different recording, but with the same ambiguity.  Allied is a predatory debt collector.  Lucky for me, I found out through the horror stories from others about how verbally abusive they can be once they've got you on the other end of the phone.

This number keeps calling people with my same last name and even has the last 4 of my social... the call is completely unfounded (no debt), but they keep harrasing me.

An automated call, saying they are contacting me regarding a debt.  They give this phone number, with no further information.  I have no debt.  When called back, it's identified (by further automated answering) that they are "Allied Interstate".  Didn't bother to hold and find out who they were or what they wanted.

These numbers called me 5 times today. I called it back several times and it was a recording saying a rep will be with me shortly then the line went dead.  I called again waited about five minutes and then a man said hello and asked how he could help me.  I told him that they called me.  He asked me what number did they call I gave them my number and he said they were looking for a Delia Sanchez.  I told him there was no here by that name.  He said okay I will have your number removed and it might take 24 hours.

Have received several calls from this company over the past few months. I saw the number and usually don't answer it. This time I did, yesterday, same thing as everyone else, saying I owe a debt and to call 1-800-258-8074. So yesterday I called and talked to some guy, I said I got this automated call, I do NOT owe any debts. He says, "oh, so you aren't "jessie ......" I said no I am not. He says, ok we will take your name off the list." He hung up. I get a call from them again today. This time it was a woman. I told her the same thing. She says, "hold on" and I heard her doing a bunch of "keyboarding" on the computer. She says so your number isn't ...-....? I said I don't owe any debts, you people should not be calling me. She said ok, I will take your name off the list. I said I told a guy yesterday to take my name off. She said well it takes 24-48 hours for your name to drop off.

So, what kind of a scam is this?

Phone number 2532183451 phoned me today at 12:07pm. I did not answer because they called me yesterday and left the same message to phone 8002588074 to talk with a rep. I did my research and did not not stress cuz its a scam. It is really stating to piss me off!

I have been gone for over a week and have been receiving calls for over a week a couple of times/day. This I observed on Caller ID.  I have  answered twice since I returned.  Nothing.  They want me to call them about debt.  I have none.  I called them at 775-258-8074.  I was left hanging, so I hung up.  I tried again today, same thing.  If they are calling me, why are they not on the line?  I could tell them something is drastically wrong.  I am now going to call the telephone company and have a block placed on this number.

Two months of hassassing recorded messages on my pager, finally made phone contact and was told I would be taken off the list, now they have my cell phone # and are using that for the same message!

We have been getting calls from  2532183451 for 2 weeks voice message that make no sense and same on the call if we pick up to call 800-258-8074.  My husband tried calling and got a big runaround.  I am blocking the calling number from my phone today. I don't need this kind of nonsense!

i've been getting a lot of annoying calls from this company like many here, so i typed in the call back number in a google search and found this site.  after reading some of the experiences others have had i decided to try and get them to stop calling me.  so i called the number and it went like this----  generic recorded message "... your call is important to us, a representative will be with you shortly."  wait a few seconds.  "hello, can i help you?"  " hi you called me saying that i have some sort of debt?"  pause..."um yes, we are looking for dolores _________."  "well that isn't me"  "do you know her?"  "no, i do not".   "Ok, we'll go ahead and remove your number then."

i guess we'll see if that actually happens.

I have no unpaid debt so can't figure out what they are asking for.  When I answer the phone, (which come through as at 253 area code which says it is not working number) there is only a message for me to call the 800-258-8074 at which time you have to leave a message or know an extension.  Does anyone know if this is a scam to capture information?

go to the FTC web site and report these calls.  That is the only way to get these companies in trouble for harassing people.

I have started getting these calls as well.  I do not have any debts, no contracts to pay etc.  I want to thank all of you for your valuable information.  You have helped me a lot.  I was afraid that somehow my identification etc. was being used and accruing debt in my name.  This does not seem to be the case... though I am not a gold mine these days... :0)

What bothers me is that the first post about this number and this company was posted in 2007. Here it is 4 years later and this "company" is still harrassing people. They call my cell every morning for the past two weeks now. Where is the ball dropping with this?
