What I don't understand is why any collection agency would call about a PayPal account...sounds fishy to me.

These folks left a voice message for me to call 'admissions.'  Totally bogus
since my student accounts are tied to a different phone number.

    Look out for this tactic!

It's a recorded message, so don't bother answering the phone when they do call.

Funny how most people say it's about a Paypal account considering that I don't have one.

Is there a way to block their number?

This one is calling once every weekday at about 5 to 6 pm. I never answer because I have unknown caller IDs set to silent, but they leave a voicemail every time. I actually do have a paypal... but I don't owe anything for collections to be calling. And I'm not about to call the number back from my phone. I think it's fishy enough that they block the Caller ID. Has anyone tried calling this number back to see what happens?

    also frustrated
I too have received a phone call from this number with a prerecorded message of an important personal business matter to discuss with me.  I do not have a PayPal account, nor am I late on any debt payments.  I have tried to call back to be removed from the call list, but as of yet have only been on hold and told by the on hold recording that my call is important.  I have also registered my brand new phone number on the national do not call registry.   https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx  For your personal interest, below are the citations of a couple federal statutes that may deal with this scam.

    47 U.S.C. § 227 - common name: Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.

    15 U.S.C. § 1692 - Common Name: Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

Possible solution: call them and tell them not to call you, if they do call you again, report them to the Federal Trade Commission (this is my plan), and if you have documented the calls and have the time and money, find a lawyer (I am not a lawyer) and see if anything can be done.

    Good luck!

there has to be some way to stop this harrassment!!!! i'm not about to call the number back, there's just too many con games using telephone number's that end up costing the victim alot of money. i too am registered for no solicitation on several website's and the government website.

I to have had these same calls sometimes up to 6 messages aday but the person they are trying to reach isn't me.  So how did my cell phone number get linked to another person's name. Or is this just a tactic to get me to call them back? I am currently up to date on all of my bills.  I wasn't harassed this much when I owed money.  I have tried to call back to let them know that they have the wrong number but I have been on hold for over 30 minutes.  I don't have time for that.

I get the same call from either Mike Wallace or Dave Country.  The company is National Enterprise Systems.  They're a collection agency from the Cleveland area.  The only way to stop them is to send them a request for Debt Validation.  They won't give you their address if you call, but you can find it on their website (just Google them).  Send it registered mail with return receipt requested.

I have been receiving the same calls for the last week or so.  He leaves up to 5 messages a day.  I do not call back because there is no reason I should be getting this call.  Be aware that there have been phone scams when you call them back, you're on hold forever, and they charge you a fortune.  Anyway, I just registered with the DNCL and we'll see.  I, too, think this is harrassment and it should be stopped by someone.

I called it back and a lady answered.  She said she was from NES.  She was calling for some guy I had never heard of.   I told her I wasn't him and didn't know him.  She said she would take the number out of the system for me.

I hope the calls stop now.

Do not have any past due bills that require a collection agency to call me.

Went to their web site at nes1.com and sent them an e-mail telling them that this number is listed in the National Do Not Call registery and they have been reported to same.  Also if they do not stop this abuse would seek legal action against them.

They also have an e-mail address of web-info@nes1.com
