They've called 7 times in the last 3 hours!  I didn't answer & no voicemail was left. I called the number back & it immediately disconnects. I'm going to answer when they call again (probably in 10 minutes) and beg them to leave me alone!  😡

There is really no reason to get repeated calls from obnoxious callers.
Simply get a phone number blocking service, app or device.

Scammers trying to get your info, they repeatedly call and hang up, if you do catch them, its impossible to understand what they want, they continously ask for you to "follow their steps" which would lead to you giving them personal info, they claim you've downloaded hacking software/ or have been hacked and they're there to help.

I received 3 to 4 more calls from number 800 266 2266.  I talked to a person twice.  They both said that they represent windows company and that they have noticed that your computer is downloading files to some unknown destination.  They claim that they have the solution to the problem. They ( one said his name was Shawn) request that you turn on your computer for there solution.  Of coarse I did not do this. It is unclear if they already had my IP address but I would not be surprised.  If they  really did observe files being transferred it would be an snap for them to discover your IP address.  What I think there doing is that they will send you an e mail and request that you open it.  After only a few minor steps with your help  they will override your firewall and obtain anything they want on your computer.   The continued calling the same number is a malfunction on there part that they are not aware of.  They are likely using a computer to call that has been programed incorrectly.  They are not aware that they are harassing people.  They are simply trying to steal everything you have including your identity.  They could be your common gang or organized scammers or they could be another country trying to establish an American database for an attack in the future.  I questioned one woman over and over again repeating my assertion that we know that they are scammers.  There English is not good at all. There understanding of English is minimal. These people are not rocket scientist. One of the people (Shawn as he said) was so persistent that he kept on talking instructing me after it would became obvious to a more English speaking man that I was [***] with him.  He only hung up when I started making fun of his accent.  There you have it.  These people will discover there software problems and continue there scam of building an American database for reasons that could rise to a level of a cyber attack on this country some time in the future.  If you have any questions call me at 607 9658083 my name is Danny

I received 8 calls, one every 45 minutes, for eight hours yesterday. I answered the phone today. Nothing. I waited for a few minutes hearing nothing, then I heard four ringing sounds (like the old-fashioned bell) and then nothing again. I use magicjack. I wonder if there is a connection there? I called the number back, but there was nothing (no surprise there).

I received nine phone calls from this number yesterday. They never left a message. I looked up the number on here last night and couldn't figure why they'd be calling me. I don't live in a Comcast area... So that was definately weird. Today, after another four calls, I answered. It was definately an auto-dialer. A man with an Indian accent picked up and said that he was calling from Windows. He said my computer had gotten a virus and they were receiving notifications from my computer that the virus was trying to copy my Windows' "key" and this was triggering multiple errors that were being automatically sent to Windows. He said that the virus had blocked their ability to send an automatic patch. He asked if I was aware that my computer was infected.  I asked him specifically who he worked for. He said that he represented Windows. I laughed and said "So wouldn't that mean you worked for Microsoft?" He stumbled over his words for a second, then said it was extremely important that I work with him. He said he was going to walk me through what files to remove and then install. He said that one I fixed a couple of files, then he would be able to remote access in to help me fix it.  I then told him to remove me from whatever list he got me from, and that if he called me again I would report him to law enforcement and hung up.

This is now the third call in two days. In fact they called 24 hours after the first call yesterday. Based on the two calls yesterday, I assume they will be calling again. If it is this bogus Microsoft/Windows operation, then it looks like I will be blocking this number. However if I am a good mood, I may string them along. If I do, I may have to break out the recorder and post the whole thing on the net.

It looks like blocking these maggots. I have not confirmed that they are claiming to be from Windows. They called three times in less then two hours.
