I was checking my phone call history on my VOIP service and I noticed something strange: this number 800-267-9084 is listed as an outgoing call several times a day. Anyone knows what this is?

Is there someone who has access to your phone that may want to keep their calls secret? I'm not sure about this particular number, but it may be a number that redirects phone calls to conceal the source.

I have DISH network and also noticed this out going call too.

This number is what DISH's satellite box dials for the satellite box to access its TV guide programming. Remember that your satellite box is connected to your phone line?

Half right.  It is your Dish Network receiver that is making the call.  It is not for the EPG.  It gets this via satellite.  Your box calls out on a regular basis to report any purchased programming.  That can be from PPV to programming changes made via the receiver.  The box will make the call even if you have made no changes, just to let the servers know.

it is annoying system

Today I noticed this number as an outgoing call on my phone while it was in progress. My phone was blinking that it was in use. Another report said that it is used by Dish Network to access tv guide programming. That could be true, as I also have Dish Network.

Ya, I have a DNW as well and have noticed the receiver calling out.  My question is WHY does the system have to make as many as 10 out bound calls a day or more?

I agree and also noticed that someone else (in all my blog searching) is having problems with anonymous charges for 9.99 in association with this number.  It might be a ghost is in the system, hmmmm?

Mine is not an incoming call.  It's outgoing.  I thought this was from my HD receiver from Dish Network so I disconnected the phone line from it.  It's still happening, apparently from my Standard Definition receiver.  Why did this become a recent problem?  I called the number myself and it's a fax line.  Very annoying!

Yes,  There is someone that has access to call out.  This morning @ the exact time this # went out he was in the other room on the phone.  My husband has a girlfriend in Mabank ,Texas.  He is calling her almost everyday,  Thinking that I am so stupid
that I don't know.  I do have Dish, but this time I saw him on the phone and on my calllog the same number registered as an outgoing call. I think it is a # that goes to her phone. Probably a 3 way connection or Fax that goes to a number she has...
I have called this 800 # to tell her she can have him.But I guess there is a code he uses when the fax comes on.  If she gets this information she will have the message I would like to send her.  Just had to vent.  Thank you.

Dish Network will call on your phone for a couple of reasons... Pay Per View and Caller ID on your TV Screen

There must be a lot of folks, including me, calling your husband's girlfriend. Does he know she's cheating on him? I think your husband's thinking may be correct.

Received call on my phone at 5:02 AM. Call duration 25 seconds, but no message.
