This number called and left a message to call, saying it was not a sales call and to call as soon as possible so that "we can resolve this matter". (No indication what the matter is.)

The caller talked to my wife, asking for someone we know that no longer lives here, but she didn't tell them anything. I called the number back and spoke with a rep who refused to say what the issue is. They are some sort of collection agency. I told them to GFY.

unidentified automatic caller with female voice asking us to call back--saying it was not a sales call.  I don't have caller id--how do I block this caller?  From other posts I am assuming it was Credit management Groups which I also assume is some type of collection agency--but I have no bills in collection.

Why can't we get rid of these jerks?

I've received 4 recorded messages from this number over the past two weeks.  These calls are completely benign and don't ask for anyone specifically.  They started while I was on a cruise ship to Mexico.  I called the number back (via a pay phone), which also was a recorded message requesting my name and number, needless to say I didn't leave a message. How can I stop these calls?  Who can I report this company too?

This is a potential scam call. Be smart. Don't call them back despite their message that it's "not a sales or solicitation call" and that it's in reference to "personal business."  Never ever ever engage in conversation with anyone on the phone you don't know. That is: anyone who has called you and is seeking information about you. Don't give your name, address, or confirm your phone number or reveal details of yourself or other members of your family. In short: don't call back. Contact the FCC through their secured website and report the number.
AND REMEMBER: ANYTHING you type on the Internet in terms of complaints about unsolicited numbers - becomes a permanent record for anyone to Google/look up.  So when you complain, be smart: Don't reveal your full name, email, your husband or wife's name, your home address, your phone number, how long you've lived at that address. etc. Again: Be smart. Not just in terms of ignoring unsolicited phone/fax calls from bulk dialing operations, but also here, on the Internet.

Total scam, I called back the # and it's a collection agency saying I owe $111 for novelty sales from "CJ Indistries".  This is total BS, I never ordered from a novelty store and they had the worng address.  Scary thing is they had the accurate last four of my SS # and the correct phone #.  I'm pissed!  What can I do to fight this with out wasting valuable time and energy.  I hope they rot!!!
