No voicemail when I ignored it. Called back and got a computer recording stating they called "in response to your request". I never requested such calls. They said they'd call back again, or I can input my number to be removed from the list. I waited (tried to get to an operator with "0" or saying "operator" to no avail), and after a while it told me they could not process my request and my number was being forwarded for manual removal. Got the same message by returning a call from 800-307-3588 a day later. This second number hung up after I answered.

I received a call from this same number. When I answered, the call hung-up. I called back and it was Global Knowledge. Select option 2, and kindly asked them to remove me from their calling list.

My guess is that the company is using an automated calling system and it does not work very well.

And yes, I had enrolled in a class once.

BTW, "Do Not Call" list does not work if you conducted business with the caller. However, you can ask the caller to remove you from their marketing database per their Privacy Policy.

Received a hang up called the number back, selected option 2.  Spoke with a very nice man and asked him to remove us from the call list, I verified our phone number and it came up with our computer programmer who hadn't wanted the call a couple of days before.  They guy said he would remove it and I told him thanks and to have a good day.

If you do not want any calls from us, don't put in your legitimate number into Techrepublic or any of our partner websites!  simple as that!  You will still get access to those whitepapers and webseminars.

Yes, we sometimes use automatic dialers as the inquiries/followups are much easier to manage.  Yes we know about the delay between the time the call connects and the time it comes to me or one of my fellow reps.  We know it's annoying too!  But just be patient, someone WILL talk to you and all you have to do is KINDLY let us know if you do or do not want info and we'll understand.  We are not pushy by any means.  We just want to help out with information on our training courses and if you have any goals you want to pursue in the future.

Doing business with someone does NOT automatically give them permission to sell your number and email address. Phone and email were required for signup, but I never gave my permission for spam. Scumbags!

If you put your email address and phone number on a request form, odds are the agreement you just click through without reading says "our partners may contact you" or something along those lines.

If we're calling you, just let us know you are not interested and kindly have a good day!  Simple as that.

Basically if you don't want calls, don't put your number email down on the forms.  simple as that too.

Oh and we, meaning Global Knowledge, do not sell any information to anyone.  Given that fact, we cannot stop our partners from doing that.

OH!!!!!  When you asked for Phone & Email you didn't mean CORRECT Phone & email.  I get it now!!  Thanks so much for the clarification.  It's so confusing.  Normally when people ask for data, I don't stop to think, they want me to give false data.  I've been enlightened.  Now I'm off to my bill collectors to explain why they can't reach me.

I read Global's response, but I don't see their position on the freedom to call without direct request. My question is --- Is there any teeth to the do not call law? I am tired of screening all my calls using my answering machine to pick up my calls first.

Calling someone everyday at 9:20am exactly, Monday - Friday is not a great example of trying to get business or help someone.
