call from (800) 295-8943, callerid = "Toll Free".  Who is this?

I called the number, the person answered and identified themself as NCO acting on behalf of Capitol One.  I suspect it is a collection agency or telemarketer.  Either way just hang-up.

NCO Financial is worse than a collection agency and violate all kinds of laws. They will call you if you have the same name as someone whose bill is years overdue and is no longer collectible.  If you are silly enough to answer, there is no way to tell them they called the wrong number; if you try, they get abusive.

Reporting them the the National Do Not Call Registry does absolutely no good.  Bottom line, don't ever answer a call from these clowns. If they have a legitamate case to press, they should already know your address and should send you a registered letter.  Instead, they harass innocent people in hopes they can extract cash from them.  These people are NOT a legitimate collection agency.

Google their name for more gory stories and the names of some state attorneys general who have brought suit against them.
