I didn't bother calling back, because the one thing I'm sure of, as there is ALWAYS someone here to answer the phone, is that absolute effort was made at contacting me.

Same here... I am now on RECORD... to receive NOTICE FOR VACATION PACKAGE TO ANYWHERE USA.. SIGNED BY CONE RAMOS.. YEAH RIGHT.  That come on post card went in the recycling bin.

Same as well.  I'd been receiving calls from this very same unknown number for a few weeks, nearly non stop.  Never left a message!  I'm sure because they're so intent on reaching me, eh?  Just pestering.  And when that move yielded no response from me (aside from googling the number,) they send the postcard.

First Google (before the postcard) yielded rumors it was Capitol One harrassing debters.  However, it seems those without a Capitol One account were equally harrassed.  Then weird collect call scams.  Now this site and a mortgage company site.  The only thing I'm finding (over time) that is in common is some lending corporation with no identifiable name, place of business, etc.  I even googled the address (75 West Water Street in Harrisonburg, VA 22801) and searched businesses near by.  Looks like it might be a residential area on satellite.  Doesn't zoom far for satellite picture.  And postage paid in West Palm Beach ,FL. Permit #3950.

And in fine print, though Delta and Continental Airlines are not sponsers, they appear to be major suppliers... of what?  Planes?  Pilots?  Seats?  Cash?  Cars?  If they supplied the tickets, that would make them sponser, right?

It's going to the recycle bin here as well!  With so much effort to conceal their identity, it seems obvious it is a scam.  Likely wanting personal information and money.  

Hopefully this helps you decide if you should call (or answer).  I wouldn't.  If they can't leave a message, it isn't important.  If they can't be found easily, it's because they don't exist.  And if you can find conflicting information for the same phone number, it's a real problem.  No business works hard to conceal itself from potential customers unless it's a scam.

they claimed that i've won one of 4 prizes and that i have already signed some entry form.  they claim they are mailing me an envelope with my prize-claim info inside and that an ipod is being added to the prize.  the 'one-of-four' things included a carnival cruise, airfare for 2 to any us location, $10,000, and $1,000.

they claim that this prize comes from some marketing ploy for some resort resort in dennis, mass.  they associated themselves with 'shamrock' something - either that was the resort name or the company responsible for the prizes.  

since they claim that i've already signed something, i'm looking forward to the mail from them.  i'd like to see my 'signature'.  if they have my real signature then i guess, well, maybe i signed up for something somewhere.  that's not my style.  i have a VOIP phone that i usually give out for anything REMOTELY likely to result in scam/spam/phishing.  these ppl had my cell phone, my full name and previous address (i just moved).

i'll repost in '3-4 days for the mail to arrive'.

What I received was a mailing "from" Delta / Budget congratulating me on having won TWO ROUNDTRIP AIRLINE TICKETS TO ANY MAJOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL USA. To claim my special gift, I'm supposed to call 1-800-296-0095.

No phone call but same mailer as Ben and Rodknee, got my Mrs all excited ;)  Looking up the address on it (76 West Water St, Harrisonburg) on Google it appears to belong to a company called Innovative Marketing.

My husband got the same mailer.  Because he's a frequent flyer, I thought I'd check it out just to be sure, but he said Delta/Budget would have sent something from Sky Miles.  Of course it looks "official", but that's a dead giveaway, as is the AUTO**5-DIGIT.  File 13.

I just got the same obvious scam card today (10/16/07). Gee, I was congratulated for their Accounting Dept having informed me that I was award  TWO ROUNDTRIP AIRLINE TICKETS TO ANY MAJOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL USA! All I have to do is call 1-800-296-0095!  And.."flights fill quickly.."
I even have a "Reservation number DVAC-200" and "their records" show (HOW????) that if I call within 72 hours I will also get a complimentary 7 day RENT-A-CAR!!

Nice people huh?

US postage paid permit #850. Sent from zip code 32114 = Daytona Beach, Fla.
No return address. Auto**5-Digit = my zip code.
At least they spelled my street name right.  
I wish I had the software to read the bar code on the slip.  Just to see if it's an Easter Egg from someone in their graphic design team saying "Don't do it!"
When I googled the address, I got pointed to an ebay posting.  Apparently it's an ebay store (an oxymoron?). It belongs to IMS, Inc.
IMS is either a real estate company in Ontario, a wire manufacturer outside of Philly, or some sort of professional training facility in Georgia.
There's an IMS (Integrated Manufacturing Systems) in Harrisonburg, but a different phone number, and likely not the culprit.
There's an IMS mortgage co, which is licensed in VA... That's about the closest I can find to a likely suspect.

Oh, they can know (guess) if you call with 72 hours of receiving it because the front of this form envelope nicely asks the postmaster to deliver with a two-day window.

But when I strip away everything to the right of the ".com" domain in the URL guess what I get?

And Why do they look familiar?  They're the same folks that posted that thing on ebay! (see my mention of it in my post just before this one.)
I think the AHM home page was just an early draft, because if you search for that now, the same company shows up at a few different urls:

to name a few.  I know companies typically lay claim to several variants of URLs, but these three, aside from having the same emblem, have 3 completely different aesthetics to them...

It is Innovative Marketing Solutions.  They sell their phone/postcard/mailing/sweepstakes services to many different vendors.  Obviously Capital One, Allied Mortgage, etc are all clients, however they may not know the tactics being used.  I work in the mortgage industry and am contacted daily by lead generation sites and companies that promise to sell me people "inetersted" in my services.  What they are selling is a "sucker list" of people that respond to these types of marketing ploys.  The people may not want the service, but that does not matter because they just need to hit their # of "contactable" leads.  This is why you get phone calls from mortgage companies who say that you filled out a form online and that is why they are calling you.  The company thinks it is true, but it is not.  HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE marketing ploy.  Stay away at all costs (unless you like your name and phone # being sold to thousands of companies).

Although, I don't get 1 thing, why are tehy waisting there money (41 cents per mail/postcard) sent? What are they getting in return? A verified phone number (if you call back)? How are the making money of it? Selling the numbers to some marketing company?

This is a sly way to get you to call a "Time Share" outfit with address in Harrisonburg, Va. My boarding pass had the info on the back side as stated: "This advertising material is being used for the purpose of soliciting the sales of time share interests. Please call for complete details of participations, terms, and restrictions".  I've been to too many pitches for time share marketing and believe me, it's no pleasure. High pressure salesmanship and the sales person puts on an attitude of irritation if you don't buy. File 13 as quickly as possible. As was stated above, "any company who doesn't identify itself can't be trustworthy"

Read closely, on the back of the enclosed ticket, its a Time Share deal.  I have to say they had me going for a few minutes.  I found this site and got the real story.  Thanks.

What a shame. I got the postcard and instantly placed the call to the 800 number. I forgot that 800 numbers have the ability to identify any phone number that calls them.

How do they get away with this thieving crap?  Isn't it illegal to scam people through the mail?

Yeah I received the letter with the entry form that I don't remember filling out with someone else's hand writing and the only thing they have correct on that is my name, address, and phone number. My age is wrong and everything else that I am sure that I would have filled out correctly on the entry form.

I am sick of these junk/scams.  They tricked my daughter who is underage, so for the hec of it I had her call> I busted out laughing and became combative towards the woman on the other end when she denied her the tickets and free rental because she was only 18/ single and didn't had a joint checking account.  The woman became so flustered by my accusations of fraud/ scams she quickly hung up on me.  Needless to say I had to explain to daughter what they were up too and why she wasn't going to get to fly somewhere for free!  hehehe LOL

I think they should make it illegal and catch these scammers, for making these scams look like official legal documents...maybe some type of mail fraud which I believe in the USA at one time was or is ILLEGAL.
