Friendly lady saying that she was calling from verification services about an entry I had filled out.

That's funny. I don't fill out entry forms. So I hung up.

Check this website for the phone number 8883030232, that is the number that they left on my machine (but the phone company tells me they called from 800-300-5761).  It is a scam according to all the messages I see there.

Unwanted calls from this number. Want them stopped

home makeover sweeps winner!
first of all a real call would be with a real person not a robo call (not press 1 for operator or stay on the line crap ) and the sweeps people would know how you entered not a random different ways to enter such things and they would identify the sponsor immediately such as home and garden tv or whatever, and you would probably remember entering it . also you can check the sweepstakes rules online they will tell you when the contest ends and when and how they will contact the winner.

Yea I won, too! They said to call back at 888-648-2805 to verify my 50K home makeover! After checking here, check out the phone number 8883030232... They say it's the Direct Buy company, which makes sense since the caller ID says DBVC. Don't answer!

Said her name, calling from verification center, blah blah blah. I tried to interrupt her to tell her to stop calling, she just kept talking, I talked louder, she still blabbed on. So I hit the # key a bunch of times to "interrupt" her and hung up. Geez........these guys are relentless, and obviously care nothing about the Do Not Call list.

I won too.  Got some live jacka$$ on the phone and demanded he take me off the list.  He said that'd be easy enough but I'd miss out on my prize.  I advised that there is no GD prize and asked if infected c**** (rhymes with runts) just run in his family.
He said what?  
I enunciated.

He ended the call.

just recieved a call that came in on the answering machine and some girl said to press a number to recieve your free home make over that you've just won. before the caller hung up i picked up and the caller then quickly hung up? i see on hte web that this is a prank and nuisance caller. lots of complaints. well, why do these idiots call at all? it makes no sense.

Just received a voice mail message from this number.  First part of message was cut off, but it said something like, "you recently visited one of our shopping malls, movie theatres, or online in the past twelve months.  I have VERY (a lot of emphasis on the "VERY") good news for you.  Your name was drawn last night!  Press 1 to speak with a live operator, or press 2 to be put on our DNC list."

Caller ID just says "Toll Free Call".

Can I retroactively press 2 so they won't call me again?  :)

Someone named Morgan called @ 1:17 p.m. From verification services, to tell me my name had been pulled last night, and  i had won a $50,000 home make over, that I never entered a contest for.  The caller asked if i would please return the call to 888-648-2805 x 485.

Exactly the same as mine.  Congrats to us:/

Called us about 2 hours ago. Only could hear the last part of their recorded message on voice mail and didn't get the entire number they wanted us to call. It's extension 485, but we're not calling them. Namaste, y'all.

I got the same message as others, and to call 888-648-2805 ext. 481 (my caller was "June").

Called at 12:07pm 11/30/12.  Robocall claiming "my entry had won a home makeover".  As many upthread have stated, I don't enter any sweepstakes, so it's hard to imagine that "my entry won" anything.  I'm on the DNC list, but I guess they don't care (imagine that).

June at ext 481 here, too.  Thankfully there are sources about this crap on the web so we can know what to ignore.

Answered but no one said anything. Caller ID said Unknown number. Guess I'll know not to answer it next time.
