Did anyone dial the number back?

Yes I did. This call was from chase fraud operations .. and the person i guess mostly was Shelley Baker who said that I have diposited some check to capitol one account (i dont have any capitol one account). She said that the check was somebody else's from chase bank and now i need to pay the money back.. I was totally shocked. As i dont have any cap one acc or chase acc. And what the she was talking abt money which i am not aware of.. I think it was a fraud .. Did u call back ?

This is a valid number as I work for Chase in this department, What I would advise is that if you ever get a call, letter, or email from any financial institution, call the number on the back of the card if you have one. Or go to their website or a local branch and call a validated number to confirm the call. If anything this will put your mind at ease and be able to take care of th situation at hand.

This is not a valid chase card number, I just called chase gave them the number and explained the situation.  BEWARE always call the number on the back of your card.

This is a real Chase number -- Fraud Department.

I too received a message from a Sharon in Chase Fraud Loss Prevention saying to call extension 12799. She sounded very official and I was almost fooled--especially since it was the day after our credit card number was stolen and the account was frozen. Someone must have made a fake card with our number and was ringing up thousands in charges around Miami Florida. At least it was easy figuring out which charges were fraudulent.
I had checked my statement online and discovered it.
Interesting that the previous poster said it came from Tampa, FL.
Who's the idiot who says this is legit?!!

This is a legit number they asked me to verify that I received my new cards as someone had stolen our card number on the other one....I called the number on the back of my card and they verified the number for me.

Received phone call from CHASE FRAUD with a guy named David.  Seems very fishy!
