Got the same thing this number has called 3 times, no one is on the line

I work for Global Knowledge and here's the scoop:

You may have downloaded a whitepaper from one of our partner websites (techrepublic, techtarget, techweb, etc) and it was related to the services we offer, which is IT Training.  We call to merely follow up and see if there is any information we can help you with for IT training.  We have a lot of business and management training as well.

If you do not want any calls from us, don't put in your legitimate number into Techrepublic or any of our partner websites!  simple as that!  You will still get access to those whitepapers and webseminars.

Yes, we sometimes use automatic dialers as the inquiries/followups are much easier to manage.  Yes we know about the delay between the time the call connects and the time it comes to me or one of my fellow reps.  We know it's annoying too!  But just be patient, someone WILL talk to you and all you have to do is KINDLY let us know if you do or do not want info and we'll understand.  We are not pushy by any means.  We just want to help out with information on our training courses and if you have any goals you want to pursue in the future.

My number is listed in the state & federal do not call list. These scumbags continue to call me at home, and, when I answer, no one's there.

LOL to "Fed" Up!  You sir are the scumbag who is using our taxpayer dollars to call someone who is paying your salary a scumbag!  Mike is right.  I called in to see what they were calling about, talked to a very nice gentleman (didn't give his name though) and he promptly removed me without a fight.  They have not called since.

I then logged into my techrepublic account and put in a fake phone number and still got access to the resources I frequently use.

heck, I may even contact Global Knowledge if I want to pursue the Cisco certification I've been contemplating.

Amazing our government is full of scumbags like "fed up".

Really?  You guys are this publicly insulted?  God they don't even leave you a message to annoy you like most of the travel/cruise scams do.  I've used Global Knowledge as have a number of my co-workers.  They're an official Microsoft, Oracle (and many other) Training and testing center.  If you use a website that asks you for a phone number, especially when looking at tech documents and you DON'T expect a call for training and/or services you should get out of IT because you're obviously not smart enough to do the job.

FYI for "Fed Up".  The Do Not Call list doesn't restrict companies to which you've provided contact information from contacting you.  Also if you read the Terms and Conditions (you know that long complex legal language you need to agree to to use the site) you would know that you agreed to having someone contact you regarding your online transaction.

Although Mike, I have to say, I would have preferred a brief message that tells me who called me so I could chose wither or not I wish to return the call.

These calls must be coming from an automated outbound call center.  I received two calls simultaneously from this number, within about 250ms of each other.  No messages are left.

Kenny, are you sure it's 250 milliseconds and not 500 ms or even 750 ms?  Do you measure how much gas you pump down to the 1000th of a gallon like the pump does and complain when your a few thousands off?  Your response is completely absurd and useless.
