Threaten to take legal action against me if I did not call back before 5:00 pm eastern time.....but would not say what the matter was about...I called back and let them have it...One lady hung up on me then when I called back again they would not answer then the 3rd time i called back...well the gentleman on the other end got an ear full!!!!!!   they are a scam....do not listen to them!

My mother in law called me yesterday and said she had a message on her machine looking for me.  She said it was a man and she could barely understand him.  He said he was looking for me reguarding a legal matter and it was very important.  I called back and it said that it's a Pennister-Clausen and Associates, but I am not finding it online at all.  If they truly were debt collectors he would have called me immediately today and did not.

This moron called my office this morning demanding to talk to me.  He would only tell the secretary that his name was "Agent Mac."  This person would not identify himself, his company, or nature of the call sooooooooooooooooo guess what, Agent Mac.............. bite me.

I got a call today and they left a message saying the are starting legal proceedings because I commited check fraud!!  I did? When??

I am not calling back.....Do you all think i should??

That is what they want you to do.
First, did they say your name specifically or was it a generic call?. Secondly, any real so called phone contact of this nature must have a viable company name, person to contact, and hours to reach them, if not a extension number. Lastly, any legitmate legal matter, would usually be proceeded by a mailed letter first. This is highly likely a wrong number or a scam. Just check some of the posts on the 800 notes home page. Unfortunately these types of phone call are rampant.

Received a message on my home phone from "Miss Myers" from the Fraud Division of Penister & Closson, call back number 404-935-9113. Stated they have a legal case filed in their office against my social security number and driver’s license number. If I do not call them back, they will assume the information is accurate and will proceed with a legal case against me. What rock did this slimy rodent crawl out from under?? They need new scripts, what a joke!! She can pound salt until the end of time. I will file a complaint with the FBI Internet crime division. Call Time: 12:19 PM 7/12/2011

I got a call from a man who left the phone # 1-800-350-0251 x. 9126.  He left a case # and said he was hired to "locate" me that I would have to appear before a judge for fraud.  I haven't gotten a letter about this or anything.  I do have a check out from one of those pay day loan places that is WAY overdue.  I wonder if it could be regarding this?  With everyone saying that it's a scam I don't think I'll call back.  He called my mother and my home.  He told my mother I obviously wasn't taking this seriously.

receiced a call at my home, cell and in laws. This guy named Brad Morris stated he was hired by US Bank to locate me and to settle an account that is already settled. He gave me a fax number to fax my letter to but then fax number didn;t work. what a surprise. He called again today after he was already notified to stop calling me stating he was going to give his recommendation on how to proceed to his client. Whatever dude bite me. I have a letter showing this alleged account is paid in full. Have never gotten any letter from this so called company.

These A...Holes are a scam!!!!! First they said I owe 4500 off of a 200 dollar payday loan...said that I had 48 hrs to pay or make arrangements to pay or the payday company was going to sue me for fraud...after talking to this "lawyer"..for an hour on the phone..he reduces the price from $4500 to 1500..I called back and talked to someone different and then he dropped it from 1500 to 960...called back later on then it dropped from 960 to 530...lol...Obviously these people are trying to get money out of people by threatning them with  the law. I have not heard from the payday advance place !!! They have not sent me a letter or email about this. I am willing to pay them back but refuse to pay some random BOOTLEG company who has been graded rate "F" by the bbb. They must be crazy!!!!! So glad I did some research on these people before that got me for 4500 dollars!!! They should really be ahamed of themselves!!! I advice anybody not to deal with these people!! Oh yeah and i actually had set up a payment arrangement and when I called back to cancel it...they were pissed!!!!! Hahahaaaaaaaa...Suckers...Didnt get me!!!!!

So sick of this s**t! These people call me every three or four months stating that I owe $5000.00 for a $200.00 payday loan that I never had. They said that if I didn't pay them at least $980.00 by 5pm that they would file a lawsuit and I would be served the next morning. I know better than that and told them to go f**k themselves, but they keep calling. Now they are calling my work. I've had enough! How are we going to stop these scammers? I feel badly for the people that believe them and pay. It's scary that they have all of our personal info as well!

There is nothing legit about this company they treat their employees horrible, theyre very disrespectful to their employees who only make commission/minimum wage, they pretend to be FDCPA complaint but everyone there violates, especially top earners and management.
They threaten debtors with jail and lawsuits they call their employers and tell the debtors they're doing employment verification.
