I received a fax at work from a travel agency and the offers looked pretty interesting but I was afraid to make a reservation and that 1-800 number appeared at the bottom.

They don't quit faxing even when requested.  I have called & told them to stop but they continue.  Have threatened legal action as they are supposed to remove a number upon request (it takes about 30 days to take effect).

Also, If you call the 800 number & just put it on hold, they pay for the call.  Since they use my fax toner & paper, I figure they deserve a few calls.  Maybe if they get a few calls like that, they will stop.

They are criminals and will not stop, this is a new number they just started using, long history here.

Many complaints filed govt does nothing.

The most effective way to get back at these crooks is fax this junk back to the VOICE number they provide. Most fax machines can be set to retry many times. They answer every time. Reduces the profit on the scam, makes it harder for victims to call giving them a chance to research the scam ... and best of all it feels REALLY GOOD to mess with these crooks!

Geez Tom, Maybe you are the one sending the faxes.  They are annoying and waste paper, toner & money.  This goes against all eco-friendly practices.  We are a not for profit organization & cannot afford the continual faxes, not to mention we couldn't afford a trip even if it was legitimate.

go bug the billion dollar corporations that are getting the bail outs!!!

Are you talking of the Do Not Call List that has no back bone and that scammers are using to generate their calling lists?

You claim the DO NOT CALL list does not work -

Being on the DO NOT CALL list will NOT STOP SCAMMERS - they use an autodialer and not a list they are buying.

However if NO ONE EVER FILES A COMPLAINT - which is the real reason why they keep doing it.

Being on the DO NOT CALL list comes with the RESPONSIBILTY TO REPORT THESE CALLS to them so they can go after these scammers.

Its EASY TO DO - just go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ and click on the "FILE A COMPLAINT Button.

I traced the call back to a website called travel1usa.com and travel1canada.com. If you go to the webpage, it shows a menu of links, which are merely text boxes. There are no active links on the page. The whole thing is a scam.

This company is nothing more than a scam.  Too good to be true sums it all up pretty nicely.  Not to mention their marketing tactics are are a joke.  Fax after fax after fax ALL from an unknown number and NEVER removing the fax number from their database EVEN AFTER IT HAS BEEN REQUESTED NUMEROUS TIMES!  Any legitimate company doesn't try to hide from their customers.

Give them your money at your own risk.

I've now called in person 3 times and had verbal confirmation that I have been removed from your blast list and yet you continue to fax me.

If I receive one more fax from Travel1Canada I am going to go medieval on your company.

Question 1. Is this offer legit? Answer=Yes, Its a Vacation Ownership Vacation package You are required to attend a tour of the Orlando resort but for your time you get a rental car for 7 days, The rest of the locations the "tour" is optional not required but if you do the tour at the other locations you get more free stuff like upgrades to condo's etc.
This Company Holds major merchant accounts to be able to accept visa, mastercard, american express So if it was a scam those 3 companies would revoke there merchant privileges. Especially American Express, If your company accepts it ask someone who knows how "No Nonsense" they are with there merchant privileges.

Question 2. Why is it so cheap? Its so cheap because the developer of the resort is in  vacation ownership, They pay these companies to get you to the resort to take the tour so they resort pays for 70% of your vacation costs to get you there. Why you ask? because 1 out of 10 couples that take the tour spend between $15,000- $50,000+ on vacation ownership. Which is more than enough to cover the other 9 that dont. what they get out of the other 9 is word of mouth advertising.

Question 3. Why do I get faxs even after I ask them to stop sending them? Well for the mental giants on this post, its quite simple You live in Canada, they are based out of the United States. So they dont have to follow your Do not Call list Only the U.S. Do not Call list as long as the fax originates in the U.S.
WOW, I bet most of you are over paid if you couldnt figure that one out! Maybe try and put your number on the U.S. Do not call list?
