i received a call today from 800-352-0667.  said they had 2 p/t openings for home typists, paying $425 wk.   i asked for the company name and website.  they said company name was "data outsourcing" but had no website.  said they have been in business for 20 years.  they told me that i could start immediately.  i just need the electronic tracking software, which they called "datameds".  they said it was $279, and you could only purchase it from them.  i asked if it could be taken from my first check and they said no, because if i didn't do the work, then the software doesn't get paid for.  i am very cautious, but as you know, the job market is horrible right now.  i am contemplating paying it, but will really be devastated if it is a scam.

also just checked with the better business bureau.  they have 2 data outsourcing companies listed.  one in new york and one in texas.  neither are bbb accredited.  f rating given for no known info other than address and phone.  on plus side, no complaints have been filed against them either.

I also am curious...sounds too good to be true. I too called the number from a job listing in our local paper yesterday. I got a call back tonight. I was told the company name was C (or D? not sure because the lady had quite a middle eastern accent) LS Data Entry. When I asked if they had any literature/website or anything that I could check into as they were wanting money and I wanted to ensure it wasn't a scam our connection was lost.

I am also wondering about the validity of this company and job.  One of my friends just signed up to work for them and has paid the 200 some dollars and they claim she will get the software in 10-12 business days.  I have been contemplating doing the same but do not want to get scammed.  I tried looking the company name up with the better business bureau and I couldn't get anything to come up. So far I'm thinking I may want to stay away but if anyone else has heard anything I'd love to know?

Ad in local paper: "Local Typists needed immediately. $400+PT - $800+FT weekly. Flexible schedules, work from home training provided. 1-800-352-0667."

Decided to call to see what it was all about (as I have extensive admin experience). Got a call back from a guy named 'Terry' the 'Regional Manager' from CLS. He told me that there were 2 part time positions open and asked if I was a strong typist. He said I would be able to move up in the company in 2 months to full time if all went well and that would be $825 weekly for 40 hours. He said that paperwork (insurance forms from doctors and dentists) would be FedEx'd to my address each week and then completed in my own time. 20 hours per week at $425 weekly paid every other Friday. 5 hour training course. 2 weeks paid time off per year. He claimed they were a 12 year old company and that Parenting magazine has rated them the #1 data entry job for work at home moms 3 years in a row. Said I would have to purchase software for $279 in order to process the forms and send them back in to the appropriate clients.

I asked for a website or anyplace I could check their credentials and he claimed that they didn't have one for 'telecommuters'. He said that they only market themselves to doctors and dentists - which after searching Google I see may be the only true statement from him. "CLS" is a data entry software for medical (and other professional) use. He said I should think it over and call him back if I was interested.

I'm pretty sure it's a scam. $20-21 per hour is great pay for an admin position and works out to $40k per year but I have a feeling that this 'company' is trying to take people's money and run - especially since they want to do everything over the phone without paperwork, documentation, a website or references.

I too called 1-800-352-0667. I first got an answering machine. Then, a man named Terry called back from a "blocked" number, who said they were "CLS Data Solutions" and they have no website.

There are good data entry positions out there, just not ones that require you to pay $280 up front for mysterious software for Microsoft only.

Thank so much for this website, I got the same things you all got and then tryed looking online for any kind of information on "CLS Data Solutions"  could not find anything but this site.  I payed the 299 but told the lady not to bill me until tomorrow so i can put money on the account.  I have now canceled that account number. and will be trying other money making ways.  Thanks everyone.

I was told there were 2 spots open for typists to process insurance claims.  I gave them the $299.00 for the software.  I received the CD-ROM.  I was told it was necessary to open a business checking account with an EIN number.  I am suspicious.

I was told they were in Minnesota.  I obtained my EIN number and was told to give them that number when I opened the business checking account.

I was told that I did not need my checking account for direct deposit and that they would mail me a check. Did they give a reason for the business checking account?

So you received your software. Is it legit? Are you doing data entry? It seems that everyone is told that there are 2 positions opened. I see that there are people on here who have actually purchased the software but no one has been back to say what happened. Can anyone offer their experience?

I fell for the scam. I recieved the software. Its not really software at all. Its a bunch of microsoft forms that give history about medical billing. I too got an ein number and gave my info. I am in the process of trying to get my money back now. I am trying to get enough info to file a complaint with the bb but so far have had no luck. I am going to call our local newspaper were I saw the add and see if they can give me any info. In order to file a complaint with the bb you need an address. I can't locate one anywere. I cant believe I feel for this. I am a new mom and eager to get back to work so I guess I didn't really think it threw.

I have received my software Cd. I have gotten my ein and all that they asked for. The lady called me yesterday. I have to pass a phone test before I can activate my "encrypted software". I will see how far they go with it. I already spent the money I might as well go with it. I can also give others feedback on how things go. They are supposed to call me tomorrow for the test. She told me to study for it. I guess we will all find out soon. I asked if they were going to need any more money and she said no.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

If you google this number (1-800-352-0667), all of there scams will come up. They are operating a lot of scams with this same phone number.  Vending machine routes with Excellent pay, Models and actors needed, Lawsuit loans, etc... A bunch of criminals.  I'm really saddened to see that people have actually paid this money and have gotten ripped off.  These people should burn in hell. Just a thought, ANYTIME someone wants you to pay in to work, It's a scam.  NO legit company would ever do that.

    Well... replies to G
You may be right that it could be a scam. However, I think you should have actually clicked the links that you searched in Google. The ads that you seen were the ads after theirs. Their ad is the same everywhere. So your info is wrong.

How did the program work out for your friend, and did you end up signing up as well???  They gave me a website, but I didn't write it down and now its not coming up.  There was a BBB websafe-type link on their (supposed?) site.  I went to BBB directly and its not coming up under CLS Data Solutions or the phone number.  Please let me know how it worked for you (and your friend), I'm really anxious to do this if its legit!!
