Caller calls several times a day stating they can help with my mortage or credit card payments.  A Mr. Phillips from Section 408 continues to leave unwanted messages.  When I call to tell them to take me off their calls list, they hang up on me.  I am sick and tired of these calls.  Someone needs to do something.  I am registered on the "do not call" list and I still get these annoying phone calls.  It has to stop.

I received a call from a man stating he was from the section 408 and that I qualified for a debt relief program, but that I needed to call him back by today.  I tried the 800-374-1414 number and nobody answered.  I just wanted to tell him to never call my house again.  Even though I am on the Do Not Call List, I think they call me more now than they did before.  I think the do not call list might have been a scam?

just a couple of minutes ago, 2:55 mountain time, "Tom Philips with Section 408, the county IN which you live IN (can't get their grammar quite right) has been approved..." CLICK bzzzzzzz...

Yeah, they say (because I took the time to listen once...) your county has been approved for mortgage relief under the economic stimulus plan...

All you have to do is give them your name, birthdate, social security number (for verification purposes, you know... they have to know exactly who they're ripping off) and a bank account where they can send the check to...

Funny thing, "section 408" is repeated in government regulations including the Patriot Act, regarding Phone Scams... Specifically.

I hope you did not give them your personal information. Never give your personal information to an unsolicited call!

A person left a phone message that this was the last time he would call me. Said his name was Brian from CCS. He said he would give me information about how to reduce my credit debt to zero by participating in the Bank Stress Test Act. He said to call him at 800-374-1414.

A client called and told me the same thing as the previous email.  I called and some asian music was playing without anyone ever picking up.  (6-1-09)

Message from John Phillips, Section 408.  County approved for mortgage bailout program. Needs information today to reserve us a spot.  Obvious scam.

Caller ID on phone showed call came from "Solutionnow", from number:  702-520-1322.

Same as above,I am a day sleeper and need the phone on for emegancy conact.  wish law enforcement could track and jail the A@# H@#*? that keep doing this,it is a recording so I cant even blow a wistle in there ear.Have a better day.

I got the same message today.  I googled the name CCS and the "Bank Stress Test Act" before calling and found this site.  Doesn't seem legit to me.

Got their call twice today and I called them once and told them to remove my number, they hung up on me!

The second time i called back and said "Why was I just hung up on when trying to remove my name from your call list?"

The lady said "I'm sorry, it was probably a rude person -- is this the number you would like removed?"

"Yes"

... and they hung up!

Received calls multiple times, this is the first time I checked this out.  I'm not surprised to find that it is a scam, and I, too, am on the "do not call" list.  My call was from John Phillips...I don't recall the name from previous calls.  This was also for the "section 408 county bail out" program and they needed the information immediately to reserve my space.

Same situation here with "Brian" and stimulus money. I've called THEM three times and they get rude and hang up. The least I can do is call them so much that I aggravate them at least a smidgen as much as they have bothered all of us. I will not stop trying to find them and get rid of  them. I thought there were some big-brother type agencies monitoring this junk. How is the repeated theft of our time, sleep, money, and phone minutes not a crime aand infringement of rights as citizens of this country? Perhaps if we ALL called them constantly they might think about respecting the do not call list. Hmm, wonder if I can program a computer to leave long messages on their system repeatedly?!

Multiple voice mails left from these two numbers: 702-520-1322, 978-570-2201 leaving same message as relayed above, "This is John Phillips from section 408...you must call today."  Number to call 1 800 374-1414

Call comes from Wilmington, MA

I a have been received calls from this number at my place of employment.  HOw can I have it removed.  I tried calling the number and there is someon 'giggling' in the other end andt hen hands up on me.  

The guy leaving the message says his name is Brian...and it is last attempt to call me.  However, I keep receiving the call.

Recorded message:  John Phillips with section 408 talking about mortgage relief, help with refinance, restructure, bailout programs, payment relief, etc.  Will help with mortgage and debt relief if contacted today and provides the return call number as 800-374-1414.  

The message was taken by my cell phone.  I called 1-800-374-1414.  A woman answered and asked if I was seeking "mortgage relief or debt relief."  I said neither.  Before I could say another word, she hung up on me.

I called again.  Same voice.  As soon as I opened my mouth to utter a sound, she hung up on me a second time.  

I waited a few minutes.  The third time I tried I said, "Please don't hang up on me.  Take my cell phone number off your call list."  She said, "It's already done."  I said, "You don't know what it is.  I'm calling from my landline."  

She did ask what my cell phone number was.  Before I said the final digit though, she hung up on me.
