This is the collections agency that DirectTV uses to harass you for their fees long after your contract is over, whether that amount is fair, correct, or not.  And, they won't stop calling you even after you have settled things with DirectTV.

Valerie Williams has called and harrassed my home number and I intend to stop this harrassment.   I have called the Wayne County Court House and talked to Chief Deputy Gary Bauer.   I will aslo file a lawsuit directed to Direct TV for harrassment as well as the collection agency for this unexcusable behavior on the telephone number 3-800-374-8503.

Called my cell phone and refused to identify themselves.  Demanded I give them a phone number and when I refused hung up on me.  Ended up calling them back three times and finally demanded a manager.  Manager said they needed my # because they don't dial the numbers, it's automated, and that they couldn't tell me why they called unless I gave them my number.  I first made him tell me what kind of company they were.  Collection agency!  I don't have any unpaid debts.  I gave him my number.  He asked if I had ever had DirectTV.  No, I've never had DirectTV, ever.  So I don't owe them any money.  My issue now is this:  My number is in a new block of numbers created specificly for the onslaught of cell phones.  It is new, noone has had it before.  I work in the telecom industry and I know this to be true.  So how did Nationwide Credit get my new cell phone number and how did they somehow connect it to an unpaid debt to DirectTV when I have never had a DirectTV account?  This smells fishy and I would advise anyone who gets a call from this number not to give any information about themselves to the people calling from 800-374-8503.

They call several times a day and no one is ever on the line.  I canceled our DirecTv service earlier this year.  I have always had problems with DirecTV.  They never successfully delivered even one paper statement to our mailing address in the entire 2 years of service.  I will NEVER subscribe again.

The above name was the name I was given as contact when I got the message on my answering machine along with this number. No information was given to me unless I provided a phone number. I hung up and immediately became suspicious. Direct TV or the company would have no reason to contact me about anything. I have never had Direct TV. When I called the number, I also did not get Valerie. I got a man who tried to keep me on the line. Do not respond to 1-800-374-8503. Something is suspicious.

Our phone also rings at least once a day if not 2 or 3 times with this number 1-800-374-8503 appearing on our caller ID along with UNKNOWN NAME. I have decided it must be a non-speaking alien as there is NEVER anyone on the other end! I just want to make them stop! Anyone know how to do that?

I received a call from this number, called them back to see who they were and they said "Nationwide", I asked what type of busy they are,the woman responded with "Personal Matters". I tryed to get more information out of her but she just said, have a good day and hung up.  Now after reading the comments on here, I know not to answer. I had DirectTV and cancelled for poor service.  I sent them a list of problems and finally was upset, decided to change, and cancelled.  The problem with early termination charges were resolved with DirectTV but apparently DirectTV and their Collection Agency "Nationwide" do not update each others records when matters have been settled.  Do NOT answer the phone when the 800 no. calls you, they will continue calling and harrassing you.

I received a call at my home number at 6:30 PM and I demanded to know what agency that she was representing.  She refused to give me any information.   I persisted that she tell me whom she represented.
She continued to refuse.  She hung up on me this time.  Amen.  She identified herself as Jenny and had a foreign accent.

after we had 2 more directv boxes hooked up,
we received an error on our bill, we called with
questions. They asked us to Describe the two workers
who installed it.We told them the Names and one was
White and the other Black. The Directv rep. quickly said
They never heard of the workers before and also they
did not have any Black working for them!

So the workers were unknown to them
even though the service was installed and we were
billed for it with errors.
The errors were never resolved. They just charged us
and ignore our complaints.

unknown  but from reading past responses I am most sure it was DIRECTV... as soon as I said hello they hung up.. guess they had better things to do But I am seriously thinking about suing them as they are tryimg to collect money from me that is not owed. In fact they owe me money. I canceled service after having directv for 14 years. My receiver broke and they sent me a new 1 a year ago. Then when I canceled service they tried to tell me I owe them a cancelation fee.
How can I owe them a cancelation fee when I have had them for service for 14 years.
The idiots tell me it's because when they sent me a new receiver I signed a contract to stay with them for 2 more years. UHH NOOOOOOOOOO I did not... sign anything.. nor did I agree to anything verbally. They offered to send me 1 because they couldn't fix my old receiver after trying to fix it 3 times.
I told them to show me where I signed or agreed to extend a contract with them , and they coudln't do so.

Sunday, about 8 am, phone rang, recorded message to call Valerie at 1-800-374-8503, hung up.

In December I went round and round with Directv over an HD installaction that they were 10 days late in doing, despite 3 technicians that never showed up when they said, attempting a very poor installation location, finally got it set up, when the tech left my house I turned the tv off, 3 hours later turned it on - nothing.  Low and behold direct couldn't get anyone back out for 3--4 more days, in which case I would have to take off work again.  I told them they could just send someone to pickup all their equipment. December 2, I switched to Dish and had service by noon the next day. I received a bill for early cancellation and service through December 20th. I have notified them via certified mail regarding the sorry service but further, billing them for the days I waited on the techs to show up because they kept saying they're on the way, storage of their equipment that still has not been picked up, and for damage done to my roof due to poor installation.  I have not actually received any reply to my letter, however they did credit the "early cancellation charges", they still want payment for the full month I December.  I assume, due to the postings I've read, this is probably what Valerie called for.

I moved to a new apartment on the second floor that has a huge tree in front of my balcony.  I called to move my service and when the installer showed up, he told me that because of the tree there was no line of sight and that they would let me out of my contract because it was not my fault.  I returned my equipment as they requested and now I'm being billed an outrageous amount of money for cancelling my service before the contract expiration.  In addition, when I arranged to move my service, they told me to call their "way you move" service and that they would move the dish.  They never moved the dish and my old apartment charged me $50.00 to dispose of the dish.  I have e-mail proof confirming my move and it states in the e-mail to leave the dish because they will pick it up.  Now I'm out $50.00 because they never moved the dish AND I'm being harassed to fulfill a contract that they told me had to be cancelled because they couldn't get a signal in my apartment.  The last time I called them, they told me I have to write a letter requesting to be released from my contract due to no line of sight.  I told them I didn't have time to write a stupid letter and I shouldn't have to write a letter when their installer and his supervisor both agreed that there is no way to receive service.  They can call me until hell freezes over!  I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB.
