Received a voicemail message from a Vince Russo, who said he was a private investigator scheduled to come down to our property to take pictures of our home, business and any assets. He said that they were in the process of contacting the Secretary of State , all our friends, business associates, families, Better Business Bureau, County Clerk, etc. He then gave the number of his client, Vericore. Phone number 800-375-3186. I called Mr. Vince Russo who told me that he did have a private investigator scheduled to come down and take pictures. When you call Vericore back, they state they are an Asset and Liability provider, however, they are just a collection agency using tactics to scare you.

I also received the same type of call from an Eric Todd at Vericore. He said that he was going to contact the Secretary of State, all my friends, business associates, Better Business Bureau, County Clerk, freeze my bank account, etc. I called a lawyer who is a friend to ask him if this guy could do this. The lawyer told me this guy needed to be reported, that I needed proof of what he was saying. He told me to record the next call, but to make the caller aware of the recording. This guy called about 3 days later and I told him that the call was being recorded. He hung up, never to call me again.

I got the same calls yesterday! What is going on with these people? Why do they do what they do. I am worried about my family's protection with these people threatening me. I think the next thing to do is a restaing order state and federal!

I just received a call from the same person who called you had the same speech.  I think its a good idea to just tell them you are recording and ask if they mind.  They will hang up and not bother you.

What about you bill? Are you forgetting you did not pay your bill? If you did pay your bill, why would they call you? It's people like you that make agencies look bad. Sure, they will investigate your company. I had it done to me. But you know what? They get the job done. They caught your attention. You cried, paid your bill and maybe you should use them for your collections. After all you were placed because you avoided your client.

A Client to VeriCore, who was once a debtor.

Got the exact same call.But our "invetigators" name was "Tom Wiegel" In response to a previous posting by "Fred" Do you work for Vericore? Because by the tone of your posting you'd fit right in. Whether there is a debt to be collected or not, no honest company needs to use scare tactics to get what the want. Ever heard the saying "you attract more bee's with honey?" We are reporting them. This is not a reputable company.

We received the same call from "Tom Weigel" threatening the same types of things mentioned above.  So who did you report them to because we want to do the same thing.  What ridiculous tactics!!!!  If you are trying to collect a bill, why haven't you first sent a demand letter?  This was the first communication we have had with this "group".

This is the only job these dirt bags can get.  They must be really hard up.
Needless to say they are breaking every law on the books.  I spoke to my attorney and he said he will go forward with a harassment suit and let’s see if that gets there attention.  It is one thing to be an honest collection agency and it is another thing when you use lies, deception, misrepresentation, and unethical practices.
Let us see when they are served with a law suit and they are on the other end of the table.  I am looking forward to it.

Are you an simpleton or what?  This is obviously strong arm tactics used by people or businesses not really concerned about proper business and leagal business procedures.  They have no right or access to any of your business, financial or personal information.  There are proper legal channels, and acceptalbe ways of collecting debts..this isnt one of them.  I would advise recording all your conversations with them and report them to the proper authorties including the better business bureau.  Pleasae contact an attorney adn find oiut your 1st hand your legal rights...dont let idiots like this fool you by threatening you and your business.  End of discussion

1st, the tactics Vericore is using are illegal whether as a collection agency or as a lawyer.

2nd the account I have been turned over for is not owed -- in fact the company that turned my name into Vericore actually owes me.  I have contested the bill in writing and have not received verification as well as providing verification that the company Vericore is representing owes me.  The harassment has continued.  Finally contacted my lawyer who wrote them a letter to no avail.  Vericore and their harassment and shoddy practices have been turned into the district attorney for prosecution due to their failure to follow the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  Still they persist.  The next step is a lawsuit against Vericore as well as against the company who turned my name into them.  Something has to get their attention and get this matter resolved.

These People did the same thing to me today - I honestly believe they are supposed to have a court order if they want to come take pictures of my business equipment - how aweful.  I too will report them.  They left the message at my business and had my employees really freaked out.  The worst part is that the bill had already been paid and the company that hired them had not followed the contract so they were trying to collect for 5 months of advertising that I didn't even sign for!!  Argh!

Thank the good Lord for this site. This has really put my mind at ease... I have a VERY HIGH Credit score and my business has NO bad debts and guess what kind of phone call I got this morning.. Yep... Tom Wiegle... good thing my staff gave him NO information and I will record and follow up on all future phone calls from Vericore. Thanks again everyone for all your input. I found it very usefull to stop this before it gets out of hand.

Received a Voice Mail message from Al Cooper.  He did not leave his company name or any details.  He said he 'wanted to hear my side of the story and he begins his detailed investigation.'  He even gave a case number.  He threatened to proceed with the investigation unless I called him back at 1-800-375-3186.

Received a call from Dillan Esteve with MCS Investigating checking on assets, liabilities and will be out to take pictures. His client's company was Zericore. He will be contacting our bank, vendors, suppliers and Sec of State. He gave a case number - all was unfamiliar.

We have now had several conversations with this group.  I also looked into their website (www.vericore.com).  They are simply a collection agency and this is their idea of a "phishing" expedition.  They claim to have mailed and faxed documents (that were never received).  They claim to be recording the conversation (tell them that you are too).  Their website spells out their collection procedure - ten day demand letter sent by certified mail is the first step listed.  When we asked for that to be mailed (since we were never informed of the amount they were trying to collect) we were told that this is the begin stages of the collection process and we would only get the demand letter if the other company pushed forward into the collection phase.  So, this is merely an attempt to strong-arm folks into paying a debt that may or may not be verified.  Don't buy into it no matter what they tell you.  If you have a valid reason for not paying the debt they claim is owed then stick to your story.

What kills me is it seems that all of you here owe and are complaining about the fact that a company is now contacting you in regards to what you. HAHA. I have worked in child support industry for years and this is nothing I received a call from this company on accident my # used to belong to a company.
All of you might want to check what is called corporate collection laws before you start throwing big words like LAW SUIT LOL.
There is always something or some reason you don't owe, maybe all of you should check your original contracts with the companies that they are collecting for, there is always the fine print that you never read LOL

A guy stating he is an asset/liability investigator and will be here shortly to take pictures of my business for their case against me...I called the 1-800-375-3186# and asked for Mr. Chris Smith which I was put on eternal hold..Well they won't step one foot on my property without a signed court order!!!!

Have you made any progress with your lawyer?

I am a receptionist for an architecture company.. we own our building, but lease half of it to another company..
I received a call from a man who said he was interested in "leasing some space" and began to ask questions about our tenants.. I quickly got my guard up because i know there are some legal issues at hand with the company and this call sounded suspicious.  he proceeded to ask me what kind of tenants our neighbors are, etc.  I didn't answer his questions, and asked who was calling.. he said his name was Donald Price.. he didn't mention he was with VeriCore until I inquired further.  I asked what vericore was and he spouted off some long description about how they are helping with an investigation, blah blah..He asked for my boss (the owner of the building) and i took a message.. he gave me a case number to reference to, along with the 1(800)375-3186 number...

the man sounded like a snake so i jumped online to research this VeriCore... glad i found this website.. Hope I didn't give him too much info already!
