- Willa replies to MelissaI have had the same thing - if you call the number they give they tell you who they are looking for. But that hasn't helped. I have called them back 4 times now to let them know that the person they are looking for is not at this number and it has been going on for MONTHS!!!!

When I called the number directly - it is a credit management company. I have requested with them to stop calling as well, and they have said it is a 3rd party collection call and they have no information on the account.- Caller: Credit Management - re Mr. Phelps office

- CoronaMae replies to Chris| 2 repliesI too have been harassed by this # and whenever I try to call back I get a voicemail recording telling me to hang up and I will receive a text in the next minute. Sure enough the text comes, Tells me in order to receive my message I need to press Y and they will charge me $9.99! Of course then I'm like "What The [removed:lang]! I cannot get a hold of any one just messages. So now i have threatened a lawsuit on my own voicemail, they have continued to call, but no longer leave a message. I have looked up the law, and they are to stop the calls immediately, or they will be liable for a lawsuit worth $500.00 per harassment call. I have been dealing with this for months and I want these [removed:lang] to pay!! When I find out who these guys are I will be doing another posting. Thanks for the venting session.
CoronaMae - RonIt called my cell phone at 2:41 PM on 7-28 and left a number for me to call. I called 800-377-7789. It stated that all conversations will be recorded. I spoke to a guy who was hard to understand. I heard a lot of phone reps talking in the back. He said he was with CTI or something like that. He was looking for someone named Tasha and I said that I now have this phone # and she does not own it. He said okay and hung up. Hopefully, he will not be calling back.

- Me, Damnit| 5 repliesyeah, I just got a new cell phone and within hours of having activated it I got a call from this 1 800 377 7789 number while I'm at work. I expect it to just be a call to confirm the phone's been activated so I ignore it.
then the next day they call back. I'm at work again, so I don't answer it.
then I get a voicemail saying I'm to call them back.
I call and get an operator for "credit management" and wonder what??
I ask to have my number placed on his "do not call list"
he says OK, what's the number?
I tell him I'm not sure because it's a new cell phone, and I don't have it memorized yet. he says call back with the number and he'll do it. but I'm on lunch break and I don't have time to do it right away.
then they call me on Saturday morning with another voicemail. I'm kinda pissed off. this has got to stop. not only does it cost minutes on my phone but my time 2 get this [***] resolved.
so I call the number and ask to be placed on the do not call list
the operator tells me she will mark it as a wrong number. I tell her No, that's not what I want. I want to be placed on your "Do not call list"
I inform her that it's federal law, that the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 states that they must maintain a Do Not Call List and they must place my number on it. If she can't do it, I want to speak with her supervisor.
she tells me there are no supervisors available. I have to wait 'till Monday. I ask what her name is. she says Takiska. I have her spell it. she refuses to give her last name and says she's the only Takiska that works there.
I tell her I want my number placed on the Don Not Call List then have a letter mailed to my home verifying that my number has been placed there. she refuses, and instead responds with, I'll transfer you to our voicemail, then does so.
I call back and get another operator, and she says the number has been labeled as a wrong number. I try to get information about the company. who they are, and why they are calling, where they are located. I mention the TCPA DNC lists and she responds with a response about how they are not a telemarketing agency and do not have to follow those laws. she says if you aren't the individual we were trying to reach, we don't have to tell you anything.
this is some shady [***], dunno what...
but I'm certain there's laws being trampled on by their behavior- Caller: Credit Manegement
- JoeyKeeps calling every day, every hour on the hour m-sunday.
- Caller: Credit Check company
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RoskoI get the same crap everyday.. I've called it back, but get a recording.. like twice a day i get a call from this number and dont know why.. so f mr phelps and his office...
- MelanieThese [removed:lang] have been calling me for the last 3 months. When I finally reached a human being at their office, they asked me if I knew a Gary (mylastname) I said I didn't, they said they'd stop calling.
They lied. They started calling after about 2 weeks. When my husband finally reached them, they were looking for a John (mylastname). Given that my last name is *very* common, it appears that they're calling every person in the phone book with that last name (and how many John and Garys are dealing with mistaken identities???)
This is a debt collection company called CMI, if anyone else wants to file a complaint - I already have. Their website: http://www.thecmigroup.com/contact.htm- Caller: The CMI Group

- Jim| 1 replyCalled my cell phone at 4am. No message
- Chris| 1 replyI activated a brand-new Blackberry from my company via Verizon, who provide the service. Upon activation, I found I had 4 voice mail messages waiting for me from... you guessed it: 1-800-377-7789. Some of the voice messages had only a female name reciting this number, as though the VM began recording mid-message. One had a long-winded message from a man, detailing the times he would be in the office for call-back.
Fearing this was some sort of telephone phishing/"slam" scam, I deleted the message and have not called them back.
Now, however, I'm getting at least three calls a day (and some in the middle of the night) from these people. Checked the Verizon site, and there is no way to "block" malicious/harrassing numbers from calling my Blackberry, so I guess I'm stuck pulling the damn thing out of the holster every time it vibrates, only to discover it's "spam caller" again. SIGH. - a Person| 1 replySame here - very annoying!
- yo man| 1 replyThey call, if you answer you get a recording call Mr Phelps, over and over. If not, they do not leave a message. I believe this to be in reference to a time warner charge of $9.00 that they forgot to send me a bill on when I terminated their service. From a blog I noticed that a Randy Phelps is the new director of call cnter operations for CMI for collections (The CMI Group, 4200 International Parkway, Carrollton, TX. 75007
800-377-7713 www.thecmigroup.com), however, I can not verify that information. I do believe it will make me think twice about ever using Time Warner services again. - nonameI just got a new cell and new cell number last week and I get calls, too, from this number. I get a message as if the voicemail started recorded mid-sentence on their end. It's actually quite creepy. I usually get calls in the late afternoon into the late evening. Very annoying. However, I just put my cell number on the Do Not Call List found at https://www.donotcall.gov. It's a government site, so hopefully it works. And if they call you 31 days after you register your number, you can put in a complaint on the site. (Who knows what good that does?)
