Canada Christian College fundraiser

Received a call at 1:00 pm this date from an individual requesting $ 365.00 for a program to feed the children inthe local school systems.  The call originated from 800-379-5658 which is listed with a firm in Alberta.  My local area is in Nova Scotia and when told that we give locally this guy felt that we were not bing honest with him.  After telling he NO in several different languages and at various voice levels I finally had to hang up to get him to be quite.  Not a pleasant experiance

Received a call and the guy on the other end was somewhat... thick. He couldn't tell me who he worked for and just said he had to talk to my husband, then he hung up.

I called the number back and the message pointed me to the Canada Christian College at this number 1-800-379-5661. When you call that number you can press 9 to have your number removed from that companies call list. You have to be calling from the number in question and not have your caller ID blocked.

Don't know if it will do any good... but it was worth a shot.

Called the wrong person. My husband answered and was asked to donate to hot meals in Alberta, however I am the local trustee and he reported there were no such programs here nor had anyone approached the school board. I will follow through tomorrow.

and asked if my parents were home !
I didn't know what to say , I was in shock .

Again today , he phoned again
but I never answered.

The Children's Emergency Foundation had their license revoked by CRA on May 09,2009.  Because they had 2 tax shelters under 1 license,a substantial portion of donations went to fundraising and administration, filed inaccurate returns, ect.

I did receive about 10 phone calls over the past week from that phone number. I still keep saying the same thing to these individuals. "I do not accept solliciting over the phone." Then he tries to guilt trip you by saying "come on you are not interested in helping hungry children..." He become very forceful. Then I end up hanging up on them because they will not accept no for an answer. I think this is more than collecting or begging for money for an organization over the phone it is harassment...

According to the CRA website, they are still registered as a charity, and have been since 2001.

Also, I have a receipt from them, dated May 27.

Canada Christian College fund raising trying to guilt me into giving them money.

Received a call this evening. but did not answer.

Got a phone call from this number, I answered with a mouthful of spaghetti, "Hello?"
"Hello?"
".....Hello....?" I say again since she didn't hear me.
"Mrs. Smith*?" she asks. This is my last name, but I am not married.
"MRS. Smith?" I ask, clarifying.
She pauses before repeating "Mrs. Smith?"
"There is no Mrs. Smith here," I say.
She hung up at that. I was looking forward to explaining the difference between Miss, Ms and Mrs to the woman.
Still don't know who they are.

I am on the do not call list but this number repeatedly calls me!
