- bg907| 7 repliesThis number shows up on my verizon wireless bill as a Premium Text Message costing me $9.99. I have no idea what it is. The full description on the bill is: PREM_SMS 44577 RngTnCh5 9.99 8003870290. Anybody have any ideas?
- Matt| 1 replyI got a spam email encouraging me to sign up for a website that gives away free i-phones. Out of curiosity I went to the site and read the terms of service and it revealed itself to be a cellphone text-messenging scam that charges 9.99 per month. It listed an 800 number as its customer support line in the terms of service and I googled the 800 number after which I found this site. The 800 number is: (800) 387-0290. The name of the company is Bid4Prizes. It's web address is: http://plkrs.info/

- Lorrie replies to MattHad you actually signed up for the TXT service? If not, were you able to have your money refunded?
- darciI've had the same problem- I never signed up for the service, and somehow got it anyways, requested it be cancelled for 5 months, with no success. I finally called the number today and they will cancel the subscription now, but they deny getting any requests for cancellation EVEN THOUGH my service provider called them today and said they sent 2 cancellation emails to them!!!
Horrible customer service, refused to let me speak to a supervisor!
Awful! - GlennThanks Matt for the website. You guys were a big help. I just saw this premium text messaging charge on this month's bill. I'm not sure how we got signed up for it, but I'm thinking that my wife or I may have filled out some registration form of one kind or another and entered our phone number when asked what our phone number was. There was for sure no indication that we were signing up for a third party subscription, and we weren't trying to win an ipod like the listed website has offered. Thanks for the info. We can Text "STOP" to 81000 to cancel. Sneaky scam artists!

- claudetteI think the same thing must have happened to us(what Dan reported) our phone company (CREDO) were very nice and removed the charge, but I think that it is important to tell the phone company so that they can go after them and put them out of business---jail would be better, but at least out of business

- nicegirlI saw three charges from this 800-387-0290 number on my cellphone. I received a text message from imatchup.com saying I had signed on to a dating service. Which was weird, because I hadn't even heard about the site. Apparently, they had been charging me every month for the last 3 months. I called up Tmobile and they were very nice and took off those charges. Remember to ask your cell phone provider to blacklist the 44577 and 81000 numbers so they will never be able to charge you again.

- RedBadgeSo I just noticed this $9.99 charge on my sprint bill. First I called two times, I was on hold and the called dropped. I was on a hard line. I speak to this lady who says I went to their web site (no i didn't) and entered my cell phone number. Then they sent me a pin number and I replied "ok" or re-entered my phone in their web site. No I didn't. I think she said Gator Arcade. I've never downloaded any ringer or game to my phone. Also, I was given a different number to call from Sprint. 1-800-375-0620. All I can say is watch your bills. I've been getting this charge for 3 months. I know, I'm not very smart for not checking.
- SanjuktaHi, I have also suffered same. I called 1-800-387-0290 and pressed "1" key two times (according to the machine recording)to get rid of this f***ing service. You can also text "STOP" to 44577 . You can do the same and check you billing for next month.
You can use this website as well.
