I dunno, I called back I got a this number is not available message. If it was indeed CIBC I've been thinking of switching away from them a long time, it's not like I need any more motivation.

Got the same call - many times.. will just configure my VOIP phone to answer this number using a virtual ring... i.e. undesirable people calling me (like this unwanted number) still think that they are actually ringing my home... however; however, I can't hear the phone ringing and there is no effect on my usage of the phone while this doornob is trying to call me... better than call block 'cause it ties up one of their lines as they ring for minutes without end... :-)

Gemma Communications. I called 1-800-391-7765 and had the option to press 1 to have my number removed within 24 hours. Seems to have worked.

This damn number has been calling everyday, twice a day sometimes. Finally I called them back and as Mel states above...I did what they say to have my number removed. We'll see if it works.

It's an automatic answer by Gemma Communications (calling on behalf of fortune 500 companies).

This number has been calling up to 10 times per day for the last two weeks!  No-one answers when I pick up and say, "Hello".  I finally heard a noise on the line today and told (hopefully) whoever it was to take my number off the list and never call again.

When will this caller give up. I never answer a phone call that does not identify itself.

This goof has been calling my number every day now for some time. Today they rang me two times.

    Enoughs, enough.

As has been posted already, you can call the same number and through an automated system have your name removed from the calling list. If that doesn't work, the CEO of Gemma Communications, the company responsible for calling you, can be reached at:

    The hacker
A good tip I got from a publication two years ago put out by ayess.com some national security and identity theft prevention company is as follows and it does work.

If anyone wants to get rid of the hassle of telemarketers and computers who dial them just call another number that is out of service and record the short tones before the message "This number is not in service"  Play those tones into the speech part on your phone the very second you answer from the clowns and it will send a signal to the computer to de-list the number from the database as it is an in active number.

Actually that company had posted on the site at one time a do not call signal WAV file that when played into the phone it kicked your number off the calling list.  I will e-mail them to ask if I can get a copy of it.

    Hello all,

I'm a reporter looking into these auto-dialling operations and their harassing ways.  I'm looking for people to interview over their phone about their experiences -- especially with Gemma.

They keep calling my cell. Cannot get them to de-list and I get billed for air-time from my cell company every time they call.

    Tired of it
I get messages from them where no-one actually speaks but I hear people in the background. I tried calling the number back and got a recorded message saying "long distance charges will apply"....even though it's a 1-800 number?

    marketing spammers need to die
I’ve been getting 5-6 calls a day from that number for the last week. I finally googled the number and found this page, called the number a few times and got a busy tone. Just now I got through and was able to remove myself from their list. Is this not harassment? I’d love to know where they got my unlisted mobile phone number from.

Kept getting calls with no one at the other end.  Called back and their automated menu service provided options for removal from call list.  Funny how they've streamlined their menu by making removal from the list the first option.  P***ing people off is obviously their core business.
