- AanoyedAnother "technical support" caller with an accent. Unreal!
- Anonym"Technical Support" that will harass you and even if you ask them to remove from the call list. I had an issue during the summer, made the mistake on calling and they have called me every few days for the past six months. Reporting them to have them get rid of this number.

- Jim replies to Disco IIMine lasted 48 minutes. He finally hung up with me after I told him my 20 year old IBM had caught fire and couldn't be fixed and I didn't have another computer other than a commodore 64. He advised me to buy a new computer and call him for security programs and has left me alone since

Find a call blocking method that works withyour phone setup. - mawReceived a call from a number which showed in my caller ID as 1-256-333-888. That's it - no last digit to the phone number. Answered it as a fake business just to see what was up. A fellow named Peter identified himself as "Technical Support and began telling me that he has received a notice from the Windows Defender program on my computer that I was having technical difficulties with my computer after downloading something from an "unauthorized site." I had not downloaded anything, so asked the guy to give me his number so I could call back and get someone on the line that I could understand because his accent was too hard to understand! I kept asking him question after question about what he was saying. After several minutes of this, I could hear exasperation in his voice, and he was more than happy to hang up! Don't think I'll hear from them again!

- ThePhantomCritic replies to JoeyDee| 2 repliesThis has indeed become a phishing scam....... I got a trojan on my computer from an unknown source and I made the mistake of calling the number in an attempt to uncover whether it was just a virus or also a phishing operation... they tried to get me tto give them a credit card number to "confirm my identity' as well as they tried to get me to give them access to my computer through a remote server and they asked questions that had nothing to do with removing a virus from my computer. The man had a strong Indian accent, spells using the phonetic alphabet, is very unofficial in his mannerisms, and sounds to be in his late 20's to early 30's. I am 100% positive that this is a phishing scam and it needs to be stopped.

- Jeff| 1 replyThey called today from this above number. I didn't answer the phone. Earlier in the day while I was online my computer flashed up with a message............Danger, danger infected, a virus, etc The computer would not let me exit out. It told me to call a number which was 855-977-8447. I rebooted my computer, looked up the number and it was from China and there was no place to leave a complaint. A little while ago, I was sitting, talking to my neighbor and this 800 number pops up. I knew better than to answer it. Of course they didn't leave a message. I have been having similar problems with a Florida number which calls to tell me that my computer is running slow. I tell them I don't have one, they get mad and hang up. I worked for a living and made my money honestly. This really bothers me that some people have no soul and don't care who they hurt.
- suzi1iBeen happening to me every day for three weeks or so. they call three times in a row every time, like robo dialer. Have put them in my contact list as "JERK...DO NOT ANSWER" I also got the one missing the last digit, four times, checked area code, In japan. Good article today on CONSUMERIST web site, gives more insight to the problem and why the "Do Not Call List" doesn't work. No fixes for the common man, just to block unknown numbers, but then how will you know you aren't losing clients/customers? As always the corporate giants leave the problem for the little guy to fix..."It's just too massive". BS
- steph| 1 replyDO NOT GIVE THIS PERSON REMOTE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. My elderly father just became a victime of this scam. This guy with a thick accent (indian) named "jason" at 800 391-9038 randomly called my dad on his cell phone and my dad unfortunately gave him remote access to his computer. I am now having to clean all this up and have advised my dad to never answer calls like this is he doesnt recognize the number on his caller ID. This jason guy (who knows if that is even his real name) attempted to get credit card information from my Dad, but THANK GOD! my dad stopped at that and didnt provide that information because he said he had to talk to his daughter about this. Jason stated that he would charge $99 dollars for the initial clean up of my dads PC and would then charge him $398 for a 3 year plan to completely update my dads computer system. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!! DO NOT GIVE OUT CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!!
