another one of the 3 or 4 numbers that have been calling me for the last 2 weeks or so. really annoying.
Definitely Gemma Communications which is an outsourcing telemarketing firm. They call on behalf of companies to promote business. Its PC Financial offering balance protection on credit cards.
PC Financial should stop giving out numbers to other companies without consent!!! ... I dont even have a credit with them and i already told them i didnt want one.
FYI I worked for them for about 3 months back 07..we were contracted by pc master card mostly but also we did some rogers and bell but pc mastercard was our biggest by far..here is some inside info for you that you don't know ..the reason 98% of the time there is no one on the end is because we were to busy to grab the live line (meaning you answered it) as we use auto dialers and once you answered the 800 number you then were put on our live phone data base and from there we sold that list to other tele marketeers..THE ONLY WAY TO GET YOURSELF OFF THE LIST is to have pc mastercard call gemma as we don't take it off if you request (even though we tell you so and say it takes 30 days to remove it)..I quit because the bounced 3 paycheques on me in the span of sis months...good luck but to be honest once on the list it doesn't get removed 4ever and if you look at pc mastercard privacy policy they have the right to give your info to 3 rd parties (hard to believe but its posted on their website) good luck to you all
Yes it's Gemma Communications (see one of the comments below)--I just called their Toronto number and they took my number off their list. It was for PC Financial's Mastercard, they want to sell me another credit card. I have received 2, 3, 4 calls from them every day, at every hour of the day and night.
I just tried calling the Toronto number and it doesn't give me the option to be removed from the call list. It does however give me an option if I'm interested in employment with their company...I don't think so ! I will try calling again during business hours and hopefully will be able to be removed.
I called their number to yell at them :-) and discovered that there is a recorded message with an option to have your number deleted from their database.
Got a call from them tonight while I was in a seminar. Obviously I didn't answer it so I came to google and keyed in the number...I am glad I did because this was the first site that came up. I am glad that the DNC list will be coming into effect soon...the 30 day buffer zone from when you sign up til when they have to stop calling you, seems to be when all of the telemarketing companies are doubling the amount of calls they are making daily!
That's what I have been wondering lately..why can't numbers be blocked? Every day I am getting calls from this number. I never answer. I went to the DNC list long ago and entered my number, hasn't helped.
the reason why the DNC list didn't work is because they have sold everyones numbers to other companies in other countries just because we've made it illegal doesn't mean the rest of the world has. DNC list is just another scam...
I just called and asked for my number to be removed...they didnt ask any further questions or try to sell me anything else. they have been calling me for weeks, always 2x per day! Im glad I found this website. She said my number would be removed immediately. I hope so!
