Suspicoius call inquiring on relative.  Claimed to be from "UCB."

Caller asked to pass msg to neighbor to call Maureen at ext 6941.  Said it was a legal matter and the neighbor's line was busy.  Said she was with PBA investigation.  When I said I would not pass the msg she said that I wouldn't want my neighbor to go to jail.

My neighbor called me.  She said someone from Citi Card was trying to reach me regarding an application. This is the number she gave...ext 6717.  Can credit card companpies do this?

And it wasn't regarding an application. It is an attempt to collect.

Dec-1,2008 I got a call at 8:55pm frm Cory Georges @ UC Bureau x86730 telling me there was an investigation pending against a relative and/or her Dad...I'm quite sure he called prior to 8:55 but I was not able to get to the phone & the caller did not leave a msg...He wd not tell me anything else so I suspect its a collection agency..How he got my tel#, I don't know but I will not speak to him ever again!

Received a call from a Mr. Allen at this number and x6862. Said he wanted me to give a message to one of my neighbors regarding a credit account at UCB and even gave me an eight digit "account number." I asked how he got our phone number, since it's supposed to be unlisted! The call could not be traced.

PBA<--- what does this stand for?

Citi Group is using collection agencies to hassle its own customers! Please do not respond to them if you do not want to be their next victim.

We did not answer this call from a 1-800#. We let them leave a message.  From the message they left it seems as though they were trying to find someone.   It's rather rude of a company to go to this tactic to locate people. Why they called us we have no idea!  We do not want them to call again! We are on a no call list. It is none of our business! There must be some rules that are being broken here. Please get them to stop this! It's just not right! The person they were asking about we don't even know! We have no idea who this person is that they are looking for. It's very scary. We fear for the person they are trying to locate!

someone named Carl B called and stated that something was wrong with my SS#.  Who would call regarding your SS#, not even the Social Security Adm, Calls you for that info.

I received a call from UCB, a Mr. Saunders whom left a message stating that it was a very important business matter that could lead to a possible court matter. He also left an eight digit file number and en extension number to be contacted.  I have no idea of who these people are and shouldn't whom ever UCB is send a letter or possibly a certified letter out if they are trying to reach someone of such an important business matter?

get repeated calls from "unknown caller".  my husband finally answered one today and it was UCB phone# 800-394-7560 x8757 and gave him a file number to pass along to me. after googling this number and seeing all the remarks, I am not going to call them.  sounds like a scam.  they're listed on ripoffreports.com

My husband also said he was really rude and the guy hung up on him

This number has called and left repeated messages for a former neighbor.  This is harassment plain and simple.  It is not even legal and I plan on informing the BBB and my district attorney's office.

I get repeated calls. The number comes up on CID as "1954".  Several people leaving messages.  They don't leave the company name, some are friendly (i.e. "We have good news for you!") and others are rude (i.e. "You must call us back today").  I looked them up and sent them an email after they called relatives I have never lived with or near about their violations.  They even came up with my long-dead grandfather that I supposedly put down as my emergency contact.  This is the contact info of the person that emailed me back:

I received a voice mail from someone claiming to be an investigator who had my file from the Department of United Bureau sounding very urgent and asked that I call them back by 7pm that night. I did not receive the message untilt he following week. The number she left was 800-394-7560. It sounded strange so I decided to look this up online to see who it could be. I also received a message at work from my receptionist that someone was calling to speak with me regarding my application. It is really low that they would try to pass themselves off as the law. I entered a debt settlement program last year and I am sure this is a collections call from one of the credit card companies.

They keep calling my loved ones and wont leave any information.
