Circuit City sales people are calling asking to buy a warranty for the TV I bought from them a month ago. Irritating! Why would anyone buy a warranty that costs as much as the tv itself!

I bought a Toshiba Laptop they called me to sell me a extended warranty. I asked her the cost she told me the price and it was a third of the darn computer. for two years and about three fourths for four years. I said, "I think i should just take this computer back to the store if you think it is going to break i should not keep it." she said "ho no it is a good computer but you never know about accidents. And this warranty covers every thing. including a new battery (each year or something like that. I said "Again if toshiba can't make a computer that don't break with normal wear and tear. Then i should take it back." Again she told me that is not what she was saying. She ended the call telling me if i need any help that i could call upon her for help. LOL

They don't leave me alone! I bought a 52" RCA TV from them last month. They offered me the warranty, I said no thank you. Now on a daily basis I keep getting calls for the extended warranty...even after I've told them no thank you!

That are harassing callers that need to take no as the final answer!

I get calls twice a day from them.

I selectively forwarded their call to their own number and they still talk to themselves twice a day.

Someone has to give the Indians something to do.

Bought an HP laptop from Circuit City for my little sister who starts college in the fall. Also bought the EXPENSIVE accident protection coverage (wouldn't for myself but for a 17 yr old college freshman, yeah...)

I already bought the coverage and they are still calling my cell. I haven't answered yet and don't intend to...

I bought a computer from Circuit City and started getting these calls about 3 weeks later. When I made the purchase the sales associate asked me if I wanted installation (NO), virus protection (NO), the extended warranty (NO) or add a printer (NO) all at additional cost. I thought I made it clear that I dont need any of these extras. So when I traced the calls here as being from Circuit City I became pissed. I am on the No-call list because I dont want any phone solicitations. But apparantly if doesnt matter if you have an "existing business relationship" with a company. Circuit City must think if you buy something from them then they have a business relationship and can call you to sell other crap. Maybe they are legally correct but it is still wrong and needs to stop. This what to do:

    1. If on the no-call list file complaints with your state AG or the FTC.
If they say that you have a business relationship with CC tell them you never knew simply buying something voided your rights to not be called.
    2. Go to CC website (circuitcity.com). At the bottom is the Privacy Policy and Contact Us. Send emails, letters or call them and tell them to take you off their calling list. They must honor that. Make sure you tell them you will not do business with anyone who calls you w/o your consent.
    3. Write to your Congressperson and ask them to revise the no-call law so it requires express consent for a business to call you for solicitations even if has a business relationship with you. Simply buying a product should not constitute a business relationship. If that was true most of us could be called by McDonalds or the gas station or grocery store...
    4. Nothing will change until all of us begin to protest. Dont let big business take advantage of loopholes in the no-call law. Help close the loopholes or put those who violate them out of business by not shopping there.

It worked!  I went to Circuit City's website and lodged (submitted an online comment/email) my complaint about their annoying constant calling.  Two days later, the calls stopped.  It's my third day and still no calls.

Thank you for your advice, Mike.

I recently purchased a Samsung 46" LCD HDTV from circuit city. I just received my first extended warranty call and I also declined the offer.

The sales person offered me a monthly payment plan, which I also declined. However, I inquired if I could purchase the warranty at a later date, if I changed my mind due to the store offering 30 day return policy and the manufacturer's 1 yr warranty.

The sales rep replied, yes and offers me a 50% discount, if I signed up today...shocking right? I pressed my luck a little more and ask, if I could cancel the warranty any time for a full refund and if the warranty could begin after the store's 30 day return policy...again he says, Yes!

I wanted to post this in case someone wanted the extended warranty service, but didn't know they didn't have to pay full price or they could cancel the service any time for a full refund.

They probably lied about starting after the 30 day return period and the full refund ability.

Stooge who sold us a 2 year warranty (wife wanted it and I didn't so she won) said that it over rode the manufacturers warranty (for internal parts not the damage one) and that circuit city would do everything after day one.  Called the warranty place and was explained correctly that you had to get mfg service in 1st year and that the CC warranty only completely covered year two.

Now getting calls from 8003954377 but wife won't pick up.  If I get one I am going to find out terms and go off on them if they mistate the terms like the retail store does...
