This guy called me at work and identified himself as a Stoneridge Insurance agent.  Said he couldn't leave a message or a number.  I called them back and they answered Stoneridge Insurance but said they had no policy of not being able to leave a message or number.

Oh, also, the guy I spoke to wasn't the guy who called.  The guy who wouldn't leave a message or leave his name.  The guy who answered said they don't call people at work.

a woman gave me her name as being sherri cook about a leisure plus plan through penny's for 9.99 per month.she also mentioned stonebridge ins.
i do not have caller id.but she did tell me to call the number mentioned above if i wanted to cancel the plan after looking it over.she said it would be charged to my penny's card.how can i stop her from doing that,now i am worried.

I just got a call from a man claiming to be from JCPenny. Its so nice to know that sites like this exist to research these numbers.

My housemate took the call and called me at work to say I had a courtesy call from J. C. Penney.  I went on the JCP.com website and called the customer service number for their credit department directly which is a DIFFERENT NUMBER.  (1-800-542-0800).  The woman I called said there was no reason for them to call me, and that the number the person gave my housemate is NOT associated with JC Penney and NOT associated with Stonebridge Life Ins.  As far as I can tell, this is a phishing scheme, but since I didn't talk to the person directly, I don't know more.

I work through stone bridge, all our products suck. But hey, if you're dumb enough to buy over the phone go for it.

This number calls daily (though they block their number on caller ID) and as soon as picked up and she answered I told her to put this number on their do not call list. She said "oh no problem, it may take up to 30 days due to it being an automated system. If you have any questions call 1-800-403-3333. Have a good day." She was pleasant which was a surprise. So I googled this number and clicked on 800-notes and it appears to be Stoneridge even though I blocked that number in our phone previous, which is why they are now calling from a blocked number, which I think is illegal since it's a telemarketing department. I will do some research on that.
