This is a collection agency. Asked to call back and left a reference file number. I am not going to call.

It is an automated system that keeps asking for a John Desantis, apparently, the former owner of the phone number I now have.

repeated calls from this number, no messages are left. Calls receivd very early in the morning and late evenings.

Apparently it is some sort of collection agency.  They were calling me for BMG records in regards to an old Record Club I used to belong to that I cancelled 5 years ago!!

I have  recieved a call from them also.  And the BMG thing makes sense.  I just got something in the mail about a balance from YEARS ago with Columbia DVD Club.  Damn those clubs!

They are also calling me about an old BMG account.  Even if you had a BMG account, though, BE AWARE that this is may be a scam.  It's becoming more and more common for scammers to call a whole slew of numbers claiming to be collecting on an account for some large corporation.  Their reasoning is that so many people join BMG if they call enough people some of them are bound to be old or current BMG customers.  That immediately steers the victim away from being suspicious because they think "Well, I did have a BMG account."  If you give them any personal information you are vulnerable to identity theft.  It's even worse if they talk you into paying the "debt" with a credit card over the phone.

I did have a BMG account, but not only did I pay the balance in full when I canceled, I accidentally paid it twice.  And I have proof.  So I know, in my case, this is not a legitimate debt.

Also, the statute of limitations for collecting this type of debt is three years in my state, and I canceled BMG over ten years ago.  You should also know that if you make a payment on an old debt it becomes active again and the statute of limitations clock starts all over again.

There is a very good chance that this is a scam, but I should point out that I have no proof though, only suspicions.  I'm not saying to just completely blow them off and risk your credit rating, but don't give ANYBODY any checking account or credit card information unless you are reassured that it's a legitimate agency calling about a valid debt.

I tried to call and it left me on Hold so I hung up.  They keep calling asking for a Willie Wilcox with a reference number.

Got msg on cell saying to call, called the # back, put on hold forever, asked company name and they wanted a case #. Crazy people, shouldn't be allowed to waste me cell minutes!

Is there a way to block calls from this number? or any number?

Same deal, they've called me with the name Melissa Deel and a reference number. The first time I called them back I was left on hold. The second time I finally got through to someone just to be put on hold. The third time I got through and threatened to sue if they did not remove my number- the lady said she was new and I would have to call her supervisor and she gave me the number, which did not work. The fourth time I called I got through and was in the middle of ripping her a new one when she put me on hold without even asking... I believe the next time I call them I will have an air horn ready- maybe that will wake them up.

Message left on employer voice mail at 8:08 PM on 5-31-2007.  Googled the number first and found this web site.  I then deleted the message without listening to it.

This place called me twice, the most recent around 730P 6/1/07. Got some lady who said they were CCS (Credit Control Services) and she kept asking me for a reference number. I told her I had nothing in any credit bureau and she said she'd transfer me to someone else. I hung up after being on hold for a while.

they keep calling me at random times there called CCS but they dont wanna collect anything they keep saying its an important job opportunity for some mexican guy named haveier caderone and when i hit the button they ask me to hit if i am this person they give me some weird code number could be a social secuirty number could be anything i dont know but its pissing me off

Repeated calls and leaves a reference number. I called back the number five minutes later and said to call back during business hours. Does anybody know how to stop the calls?

they keep calling and leaving a message on my husband's cellphone. he has tried to call them back to tell them to take him off their list but like others gets put on hold. he gave up this time after being on hold for 10 minutes...i did report them on donotcall.gov, since that number should be protected from spam calls.

not sure if they're really a collection agency at all, and i find it odd that many (most?) people reporting calls from this number were also called on cellphone...where it costs money to speak with these idiots.

Same as other victims. Message left on cell phone voice mail. Message contains phony log number and if you call you are left on hold. There should be a way to block in-coming phone calls. Perhaps have the phone company bill them for calling my number! My number is on the Federal Do Not Call list.

These idiots keep calling me and I have never and will never call back. They leave an automated message with a reference number that is ridiculously long. They call me today and I googled the number and clicked on this website link. I am so glad that there are forums like this where we can let out our anger.

They are bothering me at work.  If you ignore them will they keep calling or will they eventually go away?  I also cancelled a BMG account years ago.  What a pain!

I just got the same phone call/voice message from that agency stating that I need to call them right away bec. it's an urgent matter, and they called my parents' house where I haven't lived in 10 years....lol
I googled the phone number and it directed me to this website, and it's good to know other people's thoughts on this.
