This number called 3 times in 7 minutes. Since it was identified as "unknown name" I did not answer.

I have had the opportunity to answer this call several times now and all that happens is the either the tone goes to that of a fax machine, or the line drops after I say hello.

(This household does not have a CitiCard).

I have recieved a call from the 1-800-420-1686 number at least once a day over the last week. I too do not pick up unfamiliar numbers and instead wait till they leave a message then determine if I know the caller but this number never leaves a message so its becoming annoying.

Its Citi card Canada for Credit card !!!

Jan18.08 This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone
calls and  records the time of day when a person answers the phone.This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a "real" person to call back and get someone at home.My fax answered it by mistake and I got 3 more calls from there in the next 2 minutes. This telemarketer seems to be working mostly for the banking industry.

This number calls at least twice daily for over two weeks now.  I have never answered but I am very sick of it!!!

Yes, this is DEFINITELY Citicard Collections.  They were calling me about my account.  However, I don't think it was necessary to call six times in an evening up until 9:00 p.m.  I wasn't in at the time and they left NO messages but the caller ID showed SIX different calls!

One call this evening about 6:30 but only static on the voicemail.

Calles 4 times today (may 20th 2008) when I answered, it hung up. Is there a way to block those calls.

2 calls in about 5 minutes with no messages.  If it's a collection company it's not a very effective way to contact people.

How do you stop it. Pay you dues. or change your phone?  thats how i stopped it. its annoying too. I hated it

call but will not leave a message. Tried to call back but number not available.

They keep calling here too... I know my mom had a citi card...but it was discontinued...

It is Citibank Canada collections calling to inform you of a late payment. It is just best to answer it and make an arrangement. If you don't have a Citibank card, they may be calling to offer you one. The only way to make the calls stop in this case is to say, "Please take me off your call list." Being rude, or simply saying you are not interested does not work. I worked in telemarketing before, and legally we had to delete a number from the computer if these exact words were said. The computer does not record when you are home to try to call again, the systems are not that advanced. If a fax answers, it is deemed an incomplete call and the system will try to redial several times. Good luck!

Received three different calls from 1-800-420-9130 which appears as an Unknown/Not Identified Call on my caller ID. The prerecorded message is for an individual that I do not know. They are apparently trying to collect a debt. A law firm was mentioned but the name was so garbled and full of static that I couldn't catch it. I, myself do not have any sort of dealings with the companies named above. My telephone number is also registered on the National Do Not Call List.  How annoying these people are!

they have been calling me 9 times or more a day for three months.  they start at 8 in the morning and go until 9 pm except sunday.  if the government is going to allow these companies to continue like this even though I am on the do not call list.  then they should be limited to 1 call per day.  do not call list never works since it will not block companies that do phone polls. which all telemarketing companies do.
